Hmmm, you have a 9 footer, I have a 9 footer, I'm believing its the waziri. After this rain when things dry out, I'll be doing some more pollination. I really hope to have success with my two best plants.
That said, something always seems to happen to one's 'best plants.' Whether it's rot, bugs, thieves, or something. I have a question. Has anyone considered covering the tops with a large lawn and leaf trash bag for the duration of a downpour deluge? Bad idea? Good idea? Or just stick to the ol leaf blower after a soak?
I still am a practitioner of shaking my plants off after a rain, but with bigger colas you gotta be careful, and it doesn't do as well as a leaf blower, which i only extremely sparingly. I prefer the sunshine and nature doing its thing. But She's a fickle mistress, that Mother of ours.
Anyway, here comes junk twister season.

All plant holes get soil refreshed in the spring before planting with peat moss, cow manure and worm castings. I top-dress with worm castings during veg every couple of weeks. I variably add Pete’s Perfect Piss Potion as a nitrogen blast as needed to keep them green, which can mean some get it while others don’t. Also have found a booster shot of top-dress cow manure around August 1 is helpful to the stretch and early flower. Will also add TPS CalMag if they look like they need it.

This year I’ve added TPS Signal (potassium booster) as a terpene builder during flowering, can’t be certain what effect it has had but it seems like the Sholgar and Waziri Repros are really liking it.

Well, no sooner do I speak it, we t out to check garden after storms and both my best plants are all fucked up, branches broken. Too top heavy, must have got too wet. Bent them over to the ground plus broke branches. I'm just gonna get drunk and quit growing.
Think I'll start making white lightning.

Dang… that bites! I had some of that last season… this year I used (4) 6’ bamboo stakes in each pot and used garden twine to tie them individually to each other at multiple levels as the ladies grow. I’m restricted at the 5’ level (1’ buried in soil) but my girls are only 7’-8’ tall, I end up with 3-4 levels of “wind/weight” weather protection. They still sway but only in a limited fashion.

That sucks, but go get the rest staked and tied so you don’t suffer any more losses - and then hold the wake with memorial toasts for the lost branches (that from your pics are far enough along that you now can turn them into hash, so there is that anyway).

Because you know there’s more trouble on the way, it’s September in New England and it’s just how it is.

Been using liquid gold for years now. Tomatoes, onions, garlic, corn. Planted a little clone on July 8 and it grew to over 6 feet on guess what.

Here is about 5 weeks of growth time lined.
I went against the old saying "Hope for the best-Prepare for the worst" by only putting in one low rope trellis.
Well....let's hope my buds underperform and the winds stay mild this year or it's back to the zip ties and electrical tape again.

Actually had a friend today supply me with all the 6 ft stakes I needed, and might be able to do some triage. Will keep you posted, and next year, ill be changing the entire support system on Alpha. At least beta survived, 15 miles down the road. I keep those pics to myself these days, as Betas, ahhh, little larger.

Picture came out funky, this is a smaller cola from the storm damaged plant . Botrytis set right in, indeed, at first opportunity. Am waiting for sun to come out today and dry stuff off, and I'm chopping the one. Buds are pretty fantastical looking, and could go further, but I know from experience, once the rot sets in, it's a wrap. I hate playing the cut, trim out rot, pray it doesn't get worse when you know it always does. Leaving lower branches where I pollinated. Last night was cold and still wet, so the shitstorms a coming.

Ok, so got a lot done today, last thing was pollination. As I'm walking back in the house, I got that distinct feeling that Something Is Definitely Crawling On My Back, and as I reached for a support pole on the hot tub cover to swipe it off, I spilled a little pollen on the ground. It's not too windy, so, I dumped a bunch of water on the deck where I spilled it. Wasn't a catastrophe, and I succeeded in my mission. So it was a good day. Also made my last order of the season, some fox farm big bloom, some fungicide, Growers Ally, just didn't want to invest $150 in Zerotol that I would probably only use 1/4 of.
Everyone's grow looks really great this season. I'm happy to be at least focusing on seed this season, making lemonade from my lemons.20220908_140935.jpg

Hmmm, those cut colas… they look a tad premature on the surface of that pic for my liking. But I’m sure you got a plan. I’m still a young’n and somewhat bull headed in this only my 2nd “outdoor” grow, but I’ll fight the dang cat/pm till I see my trichomes shine and live with what I’m left with at seasons end. Last year was an eye opener, given the miserable wet and humid conditions. This year the weather tide has turned to date. I've been spraying fungicide/BT semi-regularly at grower advantage times during this grow. So far so good… :D

Mmm, just ordered my fungicide, thought it a tad early, but once rot shows up, it takes its toll quickly. These were cut branches that had rot, so they had to go. Fortunately, still have about 75% of that plant, so I'll take it like that. I'm not a big fan of spraying my plants with anything, just my humble way. I did use BT once this year. Got a healthy population of assasin bugs to keep pests at bay. First time I'll be using a fungicide, this year, if I have to.
2nd outdoor grow, you say? Well, welcome friend. Just curious, I'm always trying to learn new stuff here, what do you mean when you say 'grower advantage times?' Like, after rain?
