    Led finally makes its breakthrough

I've flowered under Lumigrow for a couple of years; 450nm + 660nm + some white for human vision. I'm set to build a bunch of COB stuff but I feel the need to make medicine right now, I've had a break from growing. The camera's white balance correction was not used for this beautiful...

    Led finally makes its breakthrough

I disagree with a big learning curve for discrete LED luminaires. My first grow with Lumigrow yielded a quarter pound of S.A.G.E. buds per plant without even trying for quantity (other than a month-long veg under fluorescents). I kept all dimming pots at 10/10. Too much of a good thing; I did...

    Led finally makes its breakthrough

The "c" panel includes 740nm, I assume the different color LEDs are independently programmable. Growershouse has been selling Heliospectra for a while. A quarter million dollars is chump change for the venture capital around Puget Sound.

    Led finally makes its breakthrough

Definitely better than a Chinese pizza box. No COBs, though, so no love around here. ;)

How many CXA2530 can I run per 1.05mA driver?

Black Thumb, I like the Mechatronix ModuLED series. The smallest Mean Well HBG is not very efficient at 120V but you might look at my post #804 in the "Show pics of your lights" thread. I bought parts for post #847 but haven't built any yet. Onlinecomponents.com had the best price on 10 of...

Summary of SupraSPL's advice on building DIY COB's

The December 2015 amazon review:. "There's a new version of this connector available from Wago: Wago 221-412 LEVER-NUTS 2 Conductor Compact Connectors 100 PK and Wago 221-413 LEVER-NUTS 3 Conductor Compact Connectors 50 PK and Wago 221-415 LEVER-NUTS 5 Conductor Compact Connectors 25 PK"

Summary of SupraSPL's advice on building DIY COB's

Many people prefer Wago 222 "lever nuts" to generic wire nuts. Edit: there is now a 221 series. Amazon reviewer: "The new version is clear so you can check that the wires are properly inserted, smaller so it will fit more easily into tight boxes, and the lever is easier to use. Maximum wire...

    Building a SAFE light

    Some "rewireables" that can use 10mm diameter (14AWG) wire: http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/358/typ_4735-50831.pdf http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/358/typ_4782-221439.pdf http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/358/typ_4785-58497.pdf http://www.schurter.ch/en/Components/Connectors/Cord-Connectors-rewireable/4736

    Building a SAFE light

The last I saw, SupraSPL thought fuses were not needed for the better quality Mean Wells. Being concerned about cords (and we should be), I'd say buy the body and plug and a reel of 14ga SJOOW cable. It's not easy to find the 14ga capable parts at Mouser, the standard is 18ga for the IEC config.

    Building a SAFE light

Looking at the spec sheet of a PEM (power entry module), Shurter is available with one or two fuses but the thermal overload is always two pole. The IEC receptacle allows 120 or 240VAC input. If 120V is used on a two-fuse installation, that violates the iron-clad rule that the neutral return...

    Building a SAFE light

This is a good topic and I know there is at least one other recent thread around here. My Lumigrow Pro 325 has a hologram UL sticker for the luminaire so I don't know what to say. The IEC C20 plug configuration is UL rated up to 20A, if you can use that...

    Building a SAFE light

You want both hot legs of a 240V equipment circuit to be on breakers or fuses. [Disclaimer: I am not an electrician.] Schurter makes good stuff from what I've seen. I don't think we need filters...

Does anyone grow but not smoke

Please do not smoke tobacco. I watched my next door neighbor die of COPD. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2665954/

Does anyone grow but not smoke

Oh yeah, I had log vapes that I "turbocharged" with bench power supplies and ran through a bong/bubbler. Also have the original VapeXhale Cloud.

Does anyone grow but not smoke

Yeah, edibles can be very much like acid. I screwed up my grow room and had a light leak so I've got jars of hermi weed. I've been buying unsalted butter and using a slow cooker to make budda. My recipes so far include peanut butter cookies, carrot cake, zucchini brownies, and pecan brownies...

Does anyone grow but not smoke

My problem phlegm is brownish-gray with small blobs of dark tar about a millimeter in diameter. I was bringing it up every morning when I got out of bed. It has been more than a month since I stopped smoking; my last tar phlegm was five days ago so things are getting cleaned up. I've been...

Does anyone grow but not smoke

I quit smoking because I was hacking up cannabis tar balls every morning. Well, no, I quit smoking when I STOPPED hacking up tar--that meant the cilia in my lungs had stopped working, I think. It used to be, if I possessed bud, I was into it all day--every day. I don't feel that way now but...

Some advice needed with grow room design

Highway, you'll get more response in the LED forum. My prediction is: discouragement of more Kessil; encouragement of COB technology.
