The use of IEC sockets with filters is about correction/protection of transient activity on the line, especially useful if you in an area where mains voltage is variable. Its always sensible to have these on a circuit with a safety switch, with regard to daisy chaining power supplies, this is problematic at best and you would need to check with the power supply manufacturer about their recommendations, most switchers dont like it

so size your cords and breaker appropriately..... 20 A breaker and bump up to 14GAcords or use a 15A with 15 or 16A

to daisy chain safely get yourself some reverse iec sockets (male plugs) like the california lightworks. those male to female jumper cords are cheap as hell on ebay. feed first fixture ort two with 14GA and use 18 on the backend if needed

a box full of 14GA as a standard is better... again these premolds are cheap and you'll lose your ass in time and cost of connectors making them yourself

I just looked at a few HPS ballast and everyone that is 120v/240v have a fuse on each leg. This is how I plan on wiring it, unless the application engineer at CDIWeb has a better solution.
