    trying to learn lessons

Misters work great during veg to inhibit spider mites that prefer a hot, dry environment. Better to use large exhaust fans during bloom. Moving air through the greenhouse will add fresh CO2 laden air accelerating growth. The mites just can't 'catch up'. With sufficient air flow, Cannabis can...

outdoor hang drying (experienced replies only please)

I prefer my smoke to be the best it can be. True, yours is probably good. Just not the best possible.

I thought the flavor was degraded. Potency less so. Appearance was damaged the most. I smoked field dried Mexican weed in the late 60s and early 70s, until local home grown became available. it was like discovering Guinness after drinking piss all your life.

doublejj's BIG 2014 greenhouse adventure Reloaded......

Sorry to hear about the pup. I know how much it can hurt. My best friend, Fuzzy, disappeared in April of 2013. I still miss him a lot. He was my constant companion in the garden.

Procrastinated my first outdoor grow, check the progress

Looking good! Get a loupe(at least 30x) and check trichome color. Some plants look done when they're not. All cloudy, to 25% amber, depending on strain, is my preference.

Cali Outdoor = Best weed in the world?

I was motivated to grow my own, here in the Central Valley by prices going out of sight in the early 80's. My first crop came from seeds that I found in a Thai Stick that came back from Vietnam in 1975. I cloned and maintained my one female for 10 years, through nineteen clonings. I gotta say...

outdoor hang drying (experienced replies only please)

Even indirect(reflected) sunlight will bleach the buds and affect potency. I'm speaking from experience. I hung plants in a greenhouse one year and draped black plastic over them to below the buds lowest point. The kholas showed quite a lot of bleaching after two weeks. BTW, I've cut and hung...

With fans you should be ok. Sunlight will bleach your buds. Air flow is most important. The more, the better for at least five days. After that, mold is less likely to be a problem.

Green till the end or let it do it's thing naturally

Nitrogen promotes vegetative growth, making buds less dense. The plant spends this making leaves rather than flowers. Too much N affects flavor, as well unless the plant is flushed for a couple weeks before harvest.

Green till the end or let it do it's thing naturally

I use 2-1-1 during veg and 1-4-3 in bloom, until the last two weeks. Too much N during bloom can affect growth pattern, potency and flavor.

My plants are stinky! Ne Ideas to help cover the smell lol

Looking good! Get a dog? Put up motion sensors(my method). Don't leave home during the evening, and unpredictably during the day.

Can I move flowering plants indoors? Climate issues.

You can go indoors, but a good gauge of light-to-plant distance is the distance you can hold the back of your hand comfortably at plant height with no discomfort. If you have a tough hide, go 6 inches more.Once a plant is well into flowering(5-6 weeks), it will finish.

    Greenhouse Winter Crop

BTW, I reveg many of my winter plants for my summer crop, using a timer and small light to complete a fourteen hour day.(Why 14 is a long discussion best left for a boring day after trimming is done.) These revegged plants have a reputation for massive size.

    Greenhouse Winter Crop

I don't disturb the air over the table, allowing the heated table to radiate heat straight up between the pots as well. The table radiates the rising heat into the soil, which makes frost damage very unlikely.

I don't put plants outdoors until after April 1st. There's no good way to protect them.

Vegged and cured my plants in our bedroom thru the early 80's. Our room wreaked!

    Greenhouse Winter Crop

While my winter plants are in one gallon pots, I put a space heater under a low covered(in plastic) table with the pots on top. The heater has a good adjustable thermostat. I set it to come on when the soil in the pots drops below forty degrees. I use a separate thermometer for this. Cannabis...

    Greenhouse Winter Crop

I do a winter crop for seeds every year in one of my greenhouses. Enough light to prevent budding is enough. I use a single 23 watt bulb on a timer to get a 14 hour 'day'. The buds are airy, but the potency is fine. A good preview. The sun is far stronger than any artificial light source. Trying...
