Greenhouse Winter Crop

OK gotcha that's what I was thinking. So are you saying the air temp in the greenhouse was 18 and you had a nice warm air pocket for the roots?
I don't disturb the air over the table, allowing the heated table to radiate heat straight up between the pots as well. The table radiates the rising heat into the soil, which makes frost damage very unlikely.

BTW, I reveg many of my winter plants for my summer crop, using a timer and small light to complete a fourteen hour day.(Why 14 is a long discussion best left for a boring day after trimming is done.) These revegged plants have a reputation for massive size.

Very cool man. I was thinking of doing the same, never have tried it. It's really interesting to hear you run 14 hours as I had only read about 20+ The massive plant thing doesn't sound too bad at all.

I'm starting to catch on here. I like your thinking. Appreciate the heads up brother.

No, it's not worth the effort. You'd be better of with a couple of 1000w lights in a garage or someplace. Besides you can use the lights to veg some big plants in Jan-Feb to put out into your greenhouse for a nice spring light dep crop....;-)
Good insight my man, glad to have your opinion. Only ever really messed with cfls indoors so this might be the time to learn! I have some serious consideration to put in as my current setup is not capable of running big lights.
