How long do you veg before planting outdoors?

Get a book. Read it. Get some tropical sativa seeds. Wait. Tropical sativas take a while to mature, but IMO, are the best there is. Durban Poison is a great strain. It matures very early. The best weed I've ever smoked came from the Islands in the early 70's. I KNOW you can mature weed, there...

    Harvest weather questions!

If doable, fans would be more benefit than cover. I agree with those that suggest waiting. If you are really paranoid, take a couple plants and let them dry and cure while you're gone. This will tell you which choice is better. If you get a chance, you could send me a few billion gallons of your...

    Biggest Producers/ Worst Upsets

My largest plant so far is a Bubbleberry x White Widow x Juicy Fruit. Reasonably productive with a kick in the head impact. Good flavor. Small tight buds.

    Biggest Producers/ Worst Upsets

My Pineapple Thai died as well, right at the start of flower. A neighboring Girl Scout Cookie moved in and is making good use of the space. Everything else seems to be doing well. Potency seems higher than usual. I'm thinking this might be due to the extremely dry conditions. Many sativas...

A lot of people LOVE smart pots. That said, there are a lot of inefficiencies in their proper use. These are NOT negatives as such. You just need to be prepared for some extra costs. They use more water than solid walled pots, or the ground, itself. The cost of the pots themselves. If the plant...

Reduce the 'day' a half hour a week until you reach the desired (15 hour) day length. The "switch" in most Cannabis strains is flipped at five days of reduced light hours. Inspect the plants for signs of flowers a few times a week. If they begin to flower, don't reduce the day length for an...

    GB Winter Greenhouse 2014-2015

Great plants! The rewards should be awesome. FYI, in 2002 I visited a friend's greenhouse. Skinned with Solexx fabric. The entire 96 square feet were packed with kholas. I immediately designed a greenhouse that has great natural ventilation, supplemented with a large exhaust fan. The Solexx on...

    What's the problem?

A quick solution would be to get some liquid Ironite or Ironite 1-0-1 pellets and drench the root zone. Ironite contains a wide range of micronutrients. A cup of pellets ground up and dissolved in 5 gallons of water will turn things around. A blender with water added would do the trick. Best of...

Rain & cold/humid weather.. Best prevention for mold?

Just get the buds off the ground. There may be feeder roots on the undersides of the main stems you don't want to disturb.

I use motion sensors in my garden. They work beautifully.

I veg my plants at 14 hours in California, 38 latitude. It works perfectly. Stick to your schedule. 15 hours sounds perfect. Reducing the 'day' by several hours could cause premature budding. A lot of growers here rely on clones purchased at clubs. Most clubs keep them on 24-0 or 18-6. Either...

Rain & cold/humid weather.. Best prevention for mold?

Shake them anyway. It reduces the amount of water needing to be evaporated. Every little bit helps. Are your plants well supported? I've spent a rainy night or six tying branched up off the ground during early downpours. Not that much fun, but it saved my buds. I try to support my girls before...

    smallest flowering plant?

Some years someone up wind gets a male or hermie and I find a few seeds in my crop. I trim in one of my greenhouses, sometimes with the door open. When I find a seed of unknown or unwanted parentage, I toss it out the door. I've seen these hardy little plants survive frost and temps in the low...

Any time I hear about 'fluffy buds' my first question is, "Are there any sources of light that come on during the night?" It is very common to overlook a neighbor's light or street light if you aren't outside at night, looking carefully. I had one side of a greenhouse crop get VERY fluffy in...

outdoor hang drying (experienced replies only please)

All I am saying is that I put a little extra effort into preserving quality. Note that I included the "possible" in my previous post. Nearly a decade ago I built a secure shed to cure my buds in. It is the best I can do. I'm sure you are doing your best, as well.

    smallest flowering plant?

Sometimes my back lawn gets some accidental seeds. I've had 3" plants of both sexes begin budding in January, if the weather gets a warm spell. They always come to a bad end during mowing.

We just called it headache weed. But, since it was all that was around, we still paid $10 a baggie(before Ziplocks).
