Conflicted what lights for my next grow, 9 vero 18s at 3500k @ 1.5 amps or 315w CDM. I'm guessing the veros will win. I have some cheap 100w @ 3amps max open frame drivers which should be able to drive a pair. If the current balance isn't good I will add a couple of current mirrors.

What size HPSs are you replacing. You need about 650watts of high quality led to replace a 1000watt hps. I would love to know what you yielded under the different lights.

Oh please I'm not scaring anyone. Unless the kind led is less than 20% efficient and the a51 are better than 50% efficient there will be more heat in the tent. The guy is concerned with heat. Never forget the physics.

Amazing physics BK 465watts puts out more heat than 600 watts. Each unit maybe cooler but the temp in the tent will be higher

I think brand could actually make a difference. It is all in the glass but so long as it is not too thick it should be ok.

I've had great results running 1000w in a 1.2x1.2m x2m tent, single hps, personally I wouldn't go any higher in that space and I also wonder how you will run 2 vertical bulbs in that space. Pics would be nice when your up and running

IMO leds should not be used without reflectors, too much light leaking from the sides lens are also important and give a big lift in light reaching the canopy. Run them softer if you don't have the hight

Why uk sites. I know the prices seem a little cheaper but I find freight quite often kills the deal. There are some good online prices in Austria, Holland and Germany but you need to look hard

Be careful of listening to all the hype you hear around the led section, most are biased one way or another. Yes they will work fine for the whole grow.

I am also in eu and so long as you are, the warranty should be honoured. I would probably just get a mag ballast to begin with to keep costs down. You will experiment more probably after the first grow.

I am very glad that my first couple of grows were with hps as I learnt a lot and there is plenty of help out there if you need it. Don't be fooled by the lower heat from led, you will still need ventilation for heat management. CDM/CMH would be another good option.

depends on a number of factors like what area are you trying to cover etc. I ran 600 watts of cheapo leds in 1 sqm and did nice. You could use less and do better as I am a pretty poor grower
