Buds from plants that had rot - aren’t the spores everywhere?

This topic came up in a recent conversation with friends who also grow in these parts (New England), which have been cold and wet all summer. We all had mold issues with our outdoor grows. At times when cutting away infected areas, I could see the spores dissipate into the air, certainly...

Mixed Auto Grow with Spider Farmer SE3000 from giveaway

New look with one plant down. Getting cool around these parts, and I needed to reintroduce the small heater. Three different varieties, all in slightly different phases.

    Flowering too early ?

Depending on budget, my recommendation is to get a tent based system. I like soil for a variety of reasons, simplicity among them, though the tent will support various media, so you can grow as you like. You can buy an all inclusive tent package for a variety of prices, $350 and up for decent...

    Flowering too early ?

Sorry for any confusion, as the demands of soil and coco coir are a bit different, and I’ve never grown in coco, my knowledge is limited. Simply from reading here my understanding is that you do need to keep a steady supply of nutrients for coco. I just read up on the product you’re using, and...

    Flowering too early ?

What are you using for a grow medium? Is that coco coir? Can you also give some specifics on your light? I have only grown autos in soil, and have typically not added any nutes for the first 25-30 days, but that totally depends on your media also. Last grow, I ditched liquid nutes and was very...

    Flowering too early ?

Autos will start to show preflower signs by three weeks. That’s part of the reason it’s important to get as much light/growth as possible in the early weeks. It probably would be somewhat larger if you started under the LED originally. Do you have more seeds? You could pop another under the...

    Let's see your auto grows!

Last pic of all four. Day 76 for the bigger ones. One of the back Forum Stompers came down last night. Frosty, stinky and sticky. Others are coming along. Slight fade, perhaps from lights too low early in the grow, but I’m very happy. I estimate 3.5-4.5 ounces from the first one down.

Mixed Auto Grow with Spider Farmer SE3000 from giveaway

Day 76 for the biggest plants, and this is the last group shot, as one came down tonight. 76 days is one past the breeders recommendation and really just about right for many. Mostly cloudy trichs, a few amber - the trichomes really cover this plant, and I kept the sugar leaves for cooking. I...

My new piece was love at first sight

Welcome. Not necessarily with you on the outdoor vs indoor thing, at least where I live, with conditions a little less favorable to outdoor grows. I understand the theory of your comment though. Nice piece. Have you thought about getting an ash catcher? Adds a second layer of filtration and...

    Flushing autos and curing propelry

Good advice above. On #3, don’t wait till they snap too much, as that’s bordering on too dry before the cure. You might also consider Grove Bags rather than jars and Bovidas. No going back for me. Happy harvest (in a few weeks or more).

Mixed Auto Grow with Spider Farmer SE3000 from giveaway

My math is flawed, lol. We’re somewhere in the early 70s now for day count. The two Forum Stompers are within the window. I’ll probably take them down next week, one of them at least. They’re at 95% or more brown pistils and almost all frosty trichs, a few starting to amber. Some leaves slowly...

    When is this plant ready

Yes, you want at least 90% to all pistils to be orange or brown, and then wait a little longer till they start to recede into the bud a bit.

    So Autos are weird….

Climate is surely a factor also. I live in the cold, wet northeastern US, not ideal auto envi, at least if the goal is a good crop.

    So Autos are weird….

Honestly, in my limited experience, autos do much better indoors. They benefit from more light than nature gives in most places.

Chop today? Or leave it a week?

Look great. Might need more than a week depending on preference. I’d let more pistils turn brown and recede a bit.

Is this harvest delayed from issues?

Other people should disagree if I’m wrong, but I don’t see what 12/12 will do to speed things up. It’s not like you need to initiate flowering. More light should result in faster development. I might go 20/4 or 18/6, but no need to go less than that. Imo.

    So Autos are weird….

It’s true they get smaller yields, though your general neglect as described above is certainly contributing to some underdevelopment. I like the time window of autos, which suits my coming and going pretty well, among other things. Here’s my current auto grow at 69 days. I don’t expect to pull a...

Welcome! This is a great place for advice and chat. Make sure you start with good seeds! What are you thinking for your first grow.

Mixed Auto Grow with Spider Farmer SE3000 from giveaway

Day 69 - Not too much change on the Forum Stompers (top two pics), the furthest along, just putting on bulk. Mephisto advertises that these are ready in 65-75 days - I know I know, a plant follows no schedule - but I also think it wouldn’t be unreasonable to harvest the Stompers now. They have...

Is this harvest delayed from issues?

Keep the humidity down with good airflow and you shouldn’t have to worry about mold, though I would also cut out the dead leaves. I’ve never had an auto go anywhere near that long. They don’t look ready for harvest though.
