Hey guys , first grow here with this photoperiod cbd Afghan kush strain plant . I started it around April-may and I didn't keep track of when it started flowering. Rookie mistake . Does anyone know how I can know if it's ready ? It's a cbd plant , so would trichome looking help ? Or any other methods ? Thanks

So would a good sign to look for be the majority be orange? Or almost all
Yes, the pistils should be almost all orange and shriveled, also at that point you can check the trichomes with a jeweler’s loop or magnifying glass, the trichs should be all milky (not clear), with 10-30% amber. More amber=more couch lock, less amber =more energetic high.

^^What they said. Also it's not a mistake to not note the exactly when they start flowering. Plants don't follow a fixed week count, breeders just give an estimate. My plants were supposed to be 9 weeks, several went 11 and I still have one that has weeks to go that was started at the same time. You have weeks to go.

BTW the trichs on some plants never turn amber, I usually leave the bottom low branches with popcorn buds on the plant after harvest just to see if stress will make it pop male flowers for some seeds. Even a month or more later I have rarely seen amber trichs
