    House insurance

Crazy... I can totally see insurers wanting to charge for commercial endorsements. I guess the reality is that it’s the only way they can currently underwrite the risk and don’t want to bother drafting a brand new endorsement that they need to seek approval for. The endorsements that insurers...

    Fish hydrolysate shelf life?

It’ll last for a while if it was prepared properly and then stored with a tight seal in a cool dark place. I would wanna use it up within a 6 month period tho.

    Coots vs subs

Yea that’s a good point, I could probably find something on Amazon that will ship free if I look hard enough. The shipping to Canada from BAS is pretty steep. Im pretty fortunate to live in a pretty bio diverse area but short growing seasons. I’ve just made my first batch of bokashi, I’m...

    Coots vs subs

Ok. It’s official, I need to source more mineral. I have 2kg of galacial on its way, but I need to make up 4 cu-ft so need 12 cups total minerals. That 2kg tub will give me what.. 5 cups at best? I need to order everything which is brutal, a joy of living in a small town lol

    Coots vs subs

This is amazing insight - thanks for taking the time to explain - definitely bookmarked, going to try both of the tests you recommended before building my soil. Unfortunately no Hydro drops... I'm assuming I can use my pH meter to test as well I was also relying on gypsum and/or lime as part...

    Coots vs subs

That’s what I’m worried about lol my testers will be showing up in the next couple of days, so we’ll see just how ‘hard’ my water is. It would just be minerals, no added chlorine or chemicals, just draws from a natural aquifer. It’s awesome drinking water lol

    Coots vs subs

This has been on my mind a lot... will be running with well water also, I know the water is ‘hard’ and deal with calcium/mineral build up on bath fixtures etc. Haven’t had my water tested but I’m now trying to determine how much lime and/or gypsum to add to my soil mix (if any any). Best to...

that looks killer that's not the same system as in the pic from the op, right? Those trays underneath look cool - where'd you get em? In guessing you get up the system yourself?

these work like self-watering pots, sip-style? I've wondered what the pot looks like taken apart.

    Feedback Pls! Forrest Organic Layer

haha I like how you think - I really do tend to overthink things most of the time I really like the idea of mulching with this stuff, have also considering using living green moss, I believe its sphagnum moss....we have tons of it around, its about 2" thick and it stays bright green under all...

    Feedback Pls! Forrest Organic Layer

I figured there might be some growers out there who incorporate it, really interesting that ur friend uses it as a majority base. I could definitely see it; the texture feels like a very airy soil mix, and if I’m not mistaken and the layer underneath the compost is working castings then I don’t...

    Feedback Pls! Forrest Organic Layer

Hey all! I've had way tom much time on my hands working from home, venturing down a soil build and waiting for my inputs to arrive. I've wanted to source soil amendments from my natural environment around me (live in a Borreal forrest). We have 4 feet of snow and its currently -20C but I...

    Gaia green organic

I follow his thread as well, great info That’s sorta what I’m thinking as well, taking the 1/3 ewc and splitting it with a leaf/pine needle compost (basically the organic layer of the forest around me), it’s consistency is extremely similar to peat so should lend itself to better aeration, but...

    Gaia green organic

Thats great insight, thanks man - reading through the tread, the consensus tends to me that if lagging during flower, low available N is to blame? Right away I just assume needs P and K, but I imagine we're talking about overall vigour and not flower production, right? I'm planning to do a...

    Gaia green organic

Looking forward to running with Gaia in the spring - have 4-4-4, 2-8-4, alfalfa, kelp, insect frass, and galacia dust on the way- plan to mix up a living soil and cook for a couple of months before potting. Also planning to add myco to the roots before transplant. Anyone have experience building...
