Out door 2022 open show an tell

How do...haven't been on the forum this season but thought I'd drop by the joint and see how everyone's doing. Some nice looking bud on here this fall. I kept the MJ garden modest this year, just 3 in the ground and 3 in 10g fabric pots. Used up the last of the Greenpoint seeds I bought during...

    smoothest joint ever

I slow-dry my flower in a barn for 2 weeks then it goes into mason jars for the cure in a cool dark location. I try to end up with about 64% r.h. in the jar after a couple weeks of burping. In any case, I've been noticing that the 2020 harvest has improved noticeably over the 15 months or so...

Just checking back in with the final harvest report. Everything's been curing in mason jars for at least a month, sampled a little of the copper chem and chinook haze recently and it was mighty fine. The terps are to die for. Nice flavor and full effect. Yield per plant was significantly...

I saw as low as $19 in Knox County. Stonington only comes in 1.5 cubic foot bags. You can bet a big sack delivered from the factory for discounted rate--I think it was something like $600 for I forget how much (yard? half a yard?). You could probably just add your own amendments to Bumper Crop...

Just heard from a botanist I checked with that it's a Hoover Fly larvae (beneficial). It got down to 45 last night here, but I'm only a few miles from the ocean so that keeps things a little milder. How much is bumper crop? I was able to get Stonington locally for $17 a bag, which is actually...

Full moon tomorrow, think I'm going to chop the 4 remaining plants in the predawn hour. They're ready and I'm curious if the terps will be extra strong. Can anyone identify this little worm pest? Picked it off one of the Cherry Wines. I also found one while trimming (yes, I washed my buds, not...

What a cute pup. They look like fast friends. Bumper crop, eh? Hadn't heard of that one, will have to check it out. We had hella wind here last night and a bunch more rain. Haven't seen any downed trees but surprised we didn't lose power. My two fabric pots went into the shed last night. Of...

Love the canna-retriever. Nice looking plants. Are you using CoM's Stonington Mix or one of the others? Great stuff, I use that to get them started, they absolutely love it. And I've been using it in my grow bags, too. That was quite a load of rain we got this morning after a very dense...

Just to clarify it hangs outside in the shade just on the day it's cut, then goes into the shed before the sun goes down. And yes, easy to overshoot on the drying and then miss out on a proper cure. Although that's not as bad as jarring too wet and ending up with moldy unusable bud. Haven't had...

Right before dawn the terpenes are at their peak. Apparently studies have confirmed this. These days 6am would do it. Good luck! I'll be up tomorrow morning too taking the last of the in-ground plants.

Very nice. As far as curing tips, I had very good results last year with a 1 day outdoor hang in the shade (after post-harvest wet trim and rinse), then about 7 days hung from the shed rafters (unheated space, a little airflow good but no fans or wind), followed by several days hung inside the...

Wait I thought the point of the depos was to finish up earlier in the season? When did you start flowering these? This weather this week is pretty much perfect for bud ripening, isn't it? I checked my remaining Cherry Wines today at noon and they were loving it, was t-shirt and shorts kind of...

    Bad season.

Based on those long thin fan leaves those plants look like sativas which can take a long while to finish up. Not sure why they would get a late start, though, unless as someone said above there's some lights shining on them at night. Didn't happen to feed them a bunch of N late in August or...

Well congrats. anyway on making the best of it. Looks like our stretch of Indian summer may be coming to a close with rain on Saturday so I'm planning to take the last 3 in the ground down predawn tomorrow. That leaves just 2 in fabric pots that I'll bring into the shed as needed till they...

Hey fader, really sorry about the fiasco. Your humility and willingness to learn and stay positive is inspiring. I agree with much of your conclusions. Interesting about your idea that local outdoor-bred strains are the best bet. Last night as I was trimming I was listening to various growers...

This year I tried topdressing with malted barley after reading some stuff from Lookin' mighty fine there. I think we're good on weather the rest of the week--might be some moisture on the weekend but maybe not. It's practically shorts and t-shirt weather here in the midcoast today. FYI, I...

    One down 6 to go

It was the 4th or fifth node first, then again in June, and again in early July. And as you can see from the pics I have space between plants so there's plenty of light on all sides and air circulation too (that's key for keeping botrytis at bay). That closest one is still 7 feet...but there are...

    One down 6 to go

Cherry Wine is great, excellent medicine. As far as structure, part of that is I topped them each twice early so they end up with a whole lot of midsized colas. Also pruned out the bottoms in July and at this point a lot of leaves are gone too. No question, they're nice looking plants.

Damn, that's a lot of weed. Some of these dispensaries must be making some serious bank. So it's supposed to be sunny and up in the seventies during the day this week. Big-time Indian summer. All my mj is down at this point (just took the last Copper Chem yesterday morning) but finishing up the...
