    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Whoa, weird. Looks like I don't have an old version then. Maybe I have an even newer version? Here are the bulbs side by side: The one on the right is what I believe to be the newer version (has a more rubbery feel to the glass), only because the packaging is more elaborate (it opens up). The...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Ah ok, thanks Captain, I will take some pics when I get home and post them. One of them seems ever so slightly more translucent as well (I believe the rubbery feeling one, which came in the package that opened up like a book) Just not sure how much a photo will help, though, they look pretty...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

I don't mean the differences between veg and flower bulbs, I mean the two different Cree builds for the same bulbs. I have 2 versions of the same 5000k 9w bulb (one has a rubbery feeling glass dome, one is smoother... packages were different as well. One opened like a book and one was a single...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Looking around some more I think the differences are negligible, but the older ones emit ever-so-slightly more light per watt? I'm still unsure which one is the new one and which one is the old, or if the older ones being better is even true. CaptainMorgan, I would love to hear your opinion on...

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

Talking with Captain he suggested the 1-2 9.5w in addition to my RW-75, mostly because of the diminishing returns after about 30w per sq foot. I had originally planned on getting 2-4 of the floodlights for additional flowering lights but will probably stick with 2-4 9.5w at least for now and see...

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

Nice, do you know by any chance which are the new ones, what to look for? I did ask in that thread as well the other day, waiting for a response so I figured I would post here as well :P Height is an issue, though so unfortunately I can't use those floodlights in veg, gotta go with the 9w...

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

Does anyone know the difference between the old and new Cree bulbs, specifically the 9w ones? I heard some people like the older ones better, but I forget where I read that and now can't find the info. I have one of each version I believe. One has a more rubbery glass dome, which came in...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Hey guys, I got 2 of those 9w Cree bulbs and plan to get a bunch more, but the two I have are different versions. One Home Depot near me carries a bunch of one kind and another has the other kind. One has a more rubbery feel to the glass and the silicone holding the glass dome is a bit more...

    150w hps venting the heat?

Yep my first grow was with a 150w HPS and 2x 125w CFLs. Small area.. 3' high x 2' x 1.5' - scrogged Northern Lights, got about 2oz from it.

How tall should I grow my plants?

Just wanna throw out an alternative to hydro, that getting a good living organic soil is also cost effective in the long run. Initial cost of compost/ewc/fertilizer/etc isn't too bad depending on how much you need, and when you have a good living organic soil all you need to do is add water.. no...

    PVC Tube for Bonsai Mother?

Yup I actually built a nice aero cloner, can't wait to set this baby in motion! Just about everything is set, I'm just finishing the last touches on my box and waiting for my living soil to cycle and be ready for planting. Pretty excited to get this new setup started, though.. it'll be my first...

    PVC Tube for Bonsai Mother?

Didn't come up with it, read about it from some other folks, wasn't really sure if it would be worth it or not.. clearly not haha. Screw keeping a mother anyway, I will just clone before flower and repeat.

    PVC Tube for Bonsai Mother?

Yeah mine will be Northern Lights if that matters. There are sticky threads on other forums for bonsai mums, just figured it was more popular with the micro-grow crowd. Definitely the least common, but still fairly common I think? Probably will avoid a mother altogether though. Thanks for the...

    PVC Tube for Bonsai Mother?

Also by the diagram, the soil wouldn't be at the bottom of the tube itself, it would be in a pot within the tube, so you can take the plant out - if that makes sense? I realize now that it looks like I may have just threw soil in a long-ass tube and planted it in there, but you would be able to...

    PVC Tube for Bonsai Mother?

Well you were talking about flowering it or using autos instead I thought? Maybe I misunderstood you. Many people keep bonsai mother plants, though, it's fairly common from what I see. It's irrelevant at this point anyway, I will just end up staggering clones. I know there are people who do use...

    PVC Tube for Bonsai Mother?

Yeah the PVC plan was to use one of those Cree LED lights so heat would be down a lot, coupled with a powerful PC fan I figured it would work out pretty great.. but thinking further into it I will probably just stagger clones.. I still am tempted to try this just because I like the idea of it :P

    PVC Tube for Bonsai Mother?

Yeah you're right.. my last grow was a scrog actually and I did a lot of trimming, didn't seem to bother her! I will probably just go this route then.. much simpler and easier :P

    PVC Tube for Bonsai Mother?

I'm not trying to belittle you or your advice, I think you just are misunderstanding my post. Mothering plants are good for 3 sets of clones? what? I've heard of people having mother plants for years. I am not flowering the mother, I am just simply keeping her in veg to take clones. I have a...

    PVC Tube for Bonsai Mother?

Yeah I definitely would prefer to stagger the clones like that. So you think taking, say, 3 clones from my plant right before sending into flower won't add anymore time to the flowering period? I just assumed the plant would have to recover somewhat after taking clones. I think this is probably...

    PVC Tube for Bonsai Mother?

I've said before, I have a grow box with a veg and flower chamber - all that stuff is set. I just would rather have my mother out of the veg chamber.. and since I only need one cutting a month I can get away with a small bonsai mother. That's what this post is about, not the rest of the grow.
