    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Hey guys, anyone check out those new 4Flow Cree bulbs? Any thoughts on them? I was getting some 2700k 9.5w Cree's for side lighting and was wondering if those new ones would be better. The package says its more omnidirectional, but a quick search said they may be a little less efficient. They...

Using Reflectix for a reflector hood?

^yup, Reflectix is a pretty common material for growing... pretty much the same diffusing pattern as hoods themselves... I was just mostly concerned with the materal being too close to the warm/hot bulbs (those Crees really don't get too hot, though) Ah well, should work out alright - thanks guys!

Using Reflectix for a reflector hood?

Ok awesome, that's what I thought, I just wanted to make sure! And thanks for that link, definitely have seen those, didn't even think of that.. maybe I could check those out and modify it. I don't have much room above the lights, though, I think I might just put reflectix on the ceiling above...

Using Reflectix for a reflector hood?

Hey guys, I built a light fixture out of 8 Cree bulbs, 9w. It's a small box frame (I'll have to post pics later). I wanted to put a curved piece of Reflectix (the bubble kind) over the whole frame but wasn't sure if it would pose a fire hazard. There isn't a lot of room between the bulbs and the...

    The Ultimate Odour Control Thread

Seems more like masking the smell than eliminating it.. would that not just smell like Pine-Sol and Weed after?

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Yeah this is something I wasn't sure about, I swear I've seen conflicting reports, but I trust you more because, well, you've actually experimented with this. This is also great news because currently my screen is about 6" from the lights, so I can move that up to probably 1" below the lights...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Yup that is my exact plan.. starting with the bulbs, then I want to get into building my own panels. And yup, def will be LSTing.. perpetual scrog to be precise. I SHOULD have extra space in my flower chamber, though, which means I can move the partition between veg and flower up a bit, giving...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

yeah my box is super small, only 2' x 1.5' footprint, and my veg doesn't have a lot of height so my options are limited currently. I need to wait until my first harvest to see if I can move the veg height up a bit (I would have to sacrifice flower height) What would you recommend for veg of...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Ah yeah I was gonna ask about that, too. I suppose if I did this I may as well make my own panel with them, BUT if I were to go that route I would just get some better Cree COBs and build my own. Definitely plan to do that one day down the road! Thanks captain! I think I just like making things...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Hey Captain, I had an idea I wanted to run by you. I've seen people disassemble these Cree bulbs and make their own flat panels out of the innards. I haven't really seen the insides of my bulbs yet, but what do you think of this idea: Say I take the glass domes off all the bulbs and unravel that...

    Led Users Unite!

Oh man I can't wait for my new LED box to go live! Pretty small box, I plan on doing a perpetual scrog with Northern Lights. 6' high x 2' x 1.5' box. Flower chamber is about 4' high, veg chamber about 2' high, little less. Flower chamber has an Area 51 RW-75 and I plan on adding maybe 4x 9.5w...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Thanks guys! I just wanted to make sure I was getting the biggest bang for my buck.. didn't want to buy a bulb with lesser diodes or anything like that. The more translucent ones are at a Home Depot that's closer to me anyway, so that's good :P So basically if they change the light components...

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Yeah I don't think I am going to remove them, I'll make it easy on myself for now :P

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

Yeah I was thinking it might just be a package upgrade, but they are definitely different, at LEAST in the coating. That might be the only difference, though. If that is the case I will get the ones that are slightly more translucent.

    Flowering with Cree bulbs

yeah, may as well leave the glass domes on for now.. maybe down the road I will take them off if I am unhappy with the veg growth, but I am sure it will be A-OK. Just weird that there are two different packages, but neither one are the old versions. Maybe just different packaging and maybe...

They are both 5000k 9w bulbs, but I can post a photo of the front of it if ya need. Also check out the logo placement between the two, just noticed one was higher.
