Well she's alive and doing well. This is her only after about 17 hours from breaking the soil. Already about 1.25 inches! I'm amazed how fast they grow.

Maybe, but I'm pretty sure I planted it only about 1/4 inch deep. The only thing that I can think I may have done is watered it too much with cold, tap water straight out of the faucet. With this second seed, I used room temp natural spring water and things have gone really smooth so far.

She germinated!!! Her root was about .5 cm long. I'm so happy! I just planted her in moist Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil about 1/4 inch deep, lightly covered her up, very lightly watered and put the pot under 2 26 watt CFLs in the grow box. Is this good for it?

Here are two pictures of the first seed I tried to germinate as of today. It used to be a brownish olive color, now after being in the soil for a week it's black. Don't know if that's just the soil that stained it that color or not.

I appreciate the advice. Do you know how long it should take for an ungerminated seed to sprout? I'm wondering when I should start worrying. :sad:

Also, because it's under soil, the light won't harm it in any way will it? I'm just using the light right now to keep the soil warm.
