3ft isn't much. 5 would be better. You're going to need around 150W of CFL's. Get the daylight ones(6500K) for veg, then some soft white ones for flowering. You should be able to get 2 decent sized plants in there if you increase your height limit. I recommend the following book...

You should be keeping your temps around 27 degrees. 40 should damn-near kill your plants. It would be a shame to get rid of such a good light in favor of CFL's. Your best bet is to get an inline fan and vent the heat away from the grow space, preferably outside or into another room.

I think I might be grabbing some OGK clones for my next grow in a few weeks. Very good smoke, to say the least.

If you partition your room off you could probably get by with just the one 450 CFM for your flowering chamber with passive intake. The veg chamber with the flouros may not require much of an exhaust at all since they don't give off much heat to begin with. A simple $20 100CFM axial fan might do...

I have no idea what the difference is, but I can tell you that I have the first one. Very nice unit. Be sure to get the proper cleaning and calibration fluids as soon as you can.

Not really. Give it another week or two. Harvest a single branch if you're that hard up.
