Lighting question

I live in a very hot area and the light just makes it hotter would this be stunting them? teps probably over 40deg C. i am using a 400w hps to grow, would i be better off with 2 CFL's or something to keep the heat down?

You should be keeping your temps around 27 degrees. 40 should damn-near kill your plants. It would be a shame to get rid of such a good light in favor of CFL's. Your best bet is to get an inline fan and vent the heat away from the grow space, preferably outside or into another room.

what cr8z13 said and try to add an air conditioner to your grow...a small, portable, 'swamp cooler' would work great. if you can't do any of that...
I'd change to cfls or full sized flo's...much less heat, and stick with indicas if you can't get that heat down.

i might just get the CFL's will be cheaper on the power as well and probably grow a bit better cause of low temps ill leave it on 24/7 hehehe will use the HPS to bud though
