High-pressure (aka "true") aeroponics - nutrient schedule?

I'm planning to grow to harvest; it's 4" PVC; this is an experiment and nothing more, so if it turns out that the roots do indeed fully block the columns (I wouldn't be surprised if they do, but I actually think they won't, and the roots will stay towards the front of the column where the plant...

    Real world Hi-Pressure Aeroponics

Thanks; asked you some questions over at IC as well - trying to design a better vertical mousetrap (for HP aero) and would love some of your input.

    Real world Hi-Pressure Aeroponics

Yeah, it just doesn't make sense to me...............understanding how root rot takes hold and effects plants, I can't fathom why a chiller would be necessary in my setup. Thinking of adding another 30 or 60 misters (60 would get me to one per plant), but I wanna find misters that don't crack...

    Real world Hi-Pressure Aeroponics

What temperature do you consider cool enough? I really can't see how with my roots suspended in air and getting misted with high DO water that rot could develop. BTW, I run from 100-125PSI, 30 misters, two per column. EDIT: BTW, how do you keep the water being delivered to the plants cool...

High-pressure (aka "true") aeroponics - nutrient schedule?

I've got a little accumulator setup I've been working on........100-125PSI, 30 misters (two per column).

Not a problem at all, bro - I'm well aware that it's gonna be virtually impossible to get the "true" HP experience going in those tubes, but I'm gonna give it a shot. That's the main reason I'm switching back to recirculating from my original idea of a drain to waste - I'll probably have to...

    Med pressure Aero

Thanks for the tip, Atomizer, but I'm more curious as to why the temps would matter, especially if doing drain to waste. There are no pathogens present (as there might be with recirculating), and dissolved oxygen should never be a problem with how fine of a mist there is...........so why would...

Plus, I use 35% H2O2 pretty religiously (twice a week), and that kills the shit outta baddies..........

    Med pressure Aero

Meh, I kinda doubt it............it's gonna be 2400 watts, but those nutes are going to be under so much pressure (anywhere from 100-125PSI) that it'd be pretty fricking hard for anything bad to grow in that area. At least that's my theory........have some PMs in to some hardcore HP aero cats...

Not setup yet, but I have a feeling that my rez temps will be in the mid 60s because I have 50' of stainless steel pumping 50F water through it when lights are on (drain to waste watercooled CO2 generator setup). Just curious why my rez temps would mean anything if running HP aero...........I...

Mike, are you running a chiller with your system? Dex, what about you? I have two chillers I could use (a 1/8th and a 1/15th, would most likely use the 1/15th because it's only gonna be like 10 gallons in my reservoir), but I'd love to be able to get away without using one (and the...

Plants look really nice and healthy, good job. As far as your screen goes - I'd make a screen for each plant (or, if possible, figure out a way to raise the middle plant to the same height as the tall plant) - when scrogging, you want as even a canopy as possible, and that's just not gonna be...

    Med pressure Aero

I initially built it using all 4" parts, and that came out to a 7' diameter (5.5' interior diameter)...........since I'm running 4 600s and not 4 1Ks, I decided a couple of weeks ago to switch it up and build the base with 3" fittings (columns and wyes are still 4"), so the diameter is now 5'...

Here's some pics..........still got a ways to go, but I'm getting there - clearly my handy skills are nowhere near his level, but I'm doing my best. And yeah, these quick connect fittings are expensive......prolly into just the fittings for $500. Break time's over, back to work..............ugh.

It's coming, but unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world...........one of my John Guest fittings was cracked, so I ordered three more second day air...........also should've received my new pressure switch yesterday (turns out the original one I ordered was only for air, doh), but God...

    True Aeroponics system Design

Nice video Mike, just subscribed to you. My setup should be rocking and rolling in a few days, just waiting on my pump to get delivered - building a silencer box for it today. EDIT: BTW Mike, that pump has no issue with vertical priming, huh? Was hesitant about the claims of vertical...

Yeah, I've already realized that my tubes are much too small to "properly" deliver mist to all the plants.............gonna have a mister at the top feeding the top three plants, and then another mister feeding the bottom three plants.............might add another mister to each column as well...
