In Reference to AN PH Perfect Products...

Their arguments are backwards. That is, wrong. First off, lets assume the first thing they said is correct. If they are not good conductors of electricity, then you would need MORE of them in solution to achieve the same EC reading. EC scales mostly equally with TDS(all the conversions I've...

    idea for a section

Were you trying to explain to them that a CHNO molecule is an organic molecule? Or something along those lines? Also, the customer is actually often wrong. You just have to show them you are right while telling them they are wrong and convincing them they are actually right. That's basically...

Question: Making Shitty Tap Water Usable Via Air Stones

This is for soil, but thank you. Everything I was talking about was related to hydroponics. Growing in coco is sort of a half way in between, I understand that. We may have had a miscommunication in regards to that point.

    Tap water question

A weak solution of sodium hypochlorite is my preference. Take a 12.5% solution of hypochlorus acid. Dilute it first at 1.8-2.0mL/L ( ~7mL/gal) and then add it to your hydroponic solution at a concentration of 0.25mL/L(~1mL/gal).

I wasn't claiming they used any ratio in particular.

If veg NPK is 3-1-2 then wtf are most nutes no where near?

The short answer to OPs question is that it really doesn't matter. The same plants will grow in very different soil/water conditions. However, there is a lot of research that was simplified and trickled down to the consumer. This is where the idea of 3-1-2 or 1-1-2 or literally anyone saying...

Question: Making Shitty Tap Water Usable Via Air Stones

Right now, you're trying to get me to believe something without any research, publications, etc. to back it up. So, before you continue, I recommend you provide me with some third party sources that say cannabis(or any other plant) is special and should be treated differently.

    yes another led . lol

The really cheap LEDs will give you efficiencies similar or only slightly better than that of HPS or MH bulbs. BUT!!! They will last a lot longer. So, there's that.

Question: Making Shitty Tap Water Usable Via Air Stones

Yes. Dumping some of the water to be replaced with distilled would help the cause. But if you have a really small setup, it's not really worth bothering, IMHO. Even so, you won't know if you even need to bother with such a thing until you get a water quality test.

Question: Making Shitty Tap Water Usable Via Air Stones

This is correct. 70-75ppm is accepted as the limit for Na or Cl concentration in a hydroponic solution. But if your source water is high, your Na and Cl concentrations will rise over time, and can rise rather quickly. It depends on water usage of course. Therefore, unless you have a method to...

An answer of "It's unlikely to change" is not an answer. "The owner is stubborn" is an answer. Thank you. I understand now.

Question: Making Shitty Tap Water Usable Via Air Stones

Go get a water quality test. A water quality test can tell you concentrations/values of the following: pH, EC, HCO3, CO3, Alkalinity, NO3-N, NH4-N, P, K, Ca, Mg, SO4-S, Fe, Mn, B, Cu, Zn, Mo, Na, Al, and Cl. These are basically all the macro and micronutrients that matter to a plant. If you have...

    Nutrients subforum name change

"Fertilizers" is the most general and accurate description of that subforum. There is almost no discussion about how individual plant nutrients are used or how they affect the plant. There is talk about deficiencies, sure, but it's hardly the dominating topic of conversation.

Best temperature range for growing cannabis?

It's been scientifically proven that the optimal growth temperature is 77-80F. I'll hunt down the research sometime later, but that seems to be what you're looking for.
