    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

This is potassium silicate or sodium silicate, what the fuck are you talking about? Do you want me to provide you with the chemical processes used in production of potassium silicate? And then a tutorial on how to make potassium silicate? Fulvic acid is a humate. Seriously, what the fuck are...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

Fulvic acid IS a humic acid. Not all humic acids are fulvic acid. Like a square is a rectangle, not all rectangles are squares. All humic acids do the same things. They are just difficult to isolate, that is, it costs a lot of isolate specific ones. So, buying a general humic acids product, like...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

I don't think that's the case. You have the remember that hardly anyone here has a horticulture degree or anything related. So, to learn how something works, in this case, learning how fertilizers work and how to go about mixing your own, you need to start with a mix that you were sold. A blend...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

Yeah, many companies do add humic acids. They aren't always fulvic acid though. As I'm sure you know, fulvic acid is the lightest humic acid, by molecular weight. But it's also the most expensive. And because of that, it is unlikely that a company would only use fulvic acid when general humic...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

Having a 5lb bag vs a 50lb bag means a small difference. You will need to by 5lb bags more often. You will need marginally more space to store 50lb bags. I don't really get why people don't by the 50 lb bags. It's cheaper. So so much cheaper.

You don't necessarily need RO. Go get a water test done. Look at QAL.us. You can get an irrigation suitability test done for $32.50. Come back here and post the results. If you're using tap water or city water, at the very most, you might want a chloramine filter. But really, you probably don't...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

I realized that when I first started this. In fact, every commercial stock solution that I see uses a single stock tank for Calcium Nitrate, Magnesium Nitrate, and if called for, sometimes Potassium nitrate. What's ridiculous about CalMag products is that they are so far from the solubility...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

Not exactly. The blends that I had listed will be basically the same when used together. That is, use part A and B. There is more than one way to add two parts and get the same result. 3+4 = 7 and so does 2+5 and 1+6.

If you don't want to have 50 lb bags of fertilizer sitting around for years, then buy 5 lb bags or something smaller.

    Adding cal to jacks

You touch upon something that I think everyone should know and understand. You mention people using a 20-20-20 or 20-10-20 or the stuff I showed above or whatever. Feeding your plants fertilizer is in every way, not natural. Regardless the fertilizer blend you use, they will experience vigorous...

    Adding cal to jacks

Soft water means low ion concentration, usually calcium/magnesium. Hard water means high ion concentration, usually calcium/magnesium. There's no way to say what is the best for you when growing in soil without a soil quality test. Anyway, here's a breakdown of Jack's Hydroponic 5-12-16...

    Adding cal to jacks

Jack's 5-12-26 Hydroponic. Use it along side Calcium Nitrate, just as the directions state. With that product, the way you control N concentration is directly through use of Calcium Nitrate and maybe Urea if you'd like. So, for example: 13 oz per 100 gallons 5-12-26 Hydroponic = ~50 ppm N...

    Nutrients shelf life

If they are a synthetic base, then they don't go bad. If they are organic base, they might, but it depends on the method of manufacture and whether or not a brewing process occurred.

Phosphate vs Phosphite, Know the differences.

I'm sure all of you have heard of phosphates before. It's how phosphorus is delivered to your plants. But many of you may not have heard of phosphites. Phosphate fertilizers are generally made from phosphoric acid (H3PO4) and in solution, the ion PO4-, is the phosphate ion. Phosphites are made...

Using h202 - which of the general hydro nutes should I not add together with the h202?

I don't know if that would stress them too much. There are products like DipNGrow that are used for cloning and can be added to fertilizer blends during transplant to mitigate stress. If you want to keep costs down, get rid of your liquid blend fertilizers and blend them yourself. I have a...

    RAW solubles

These products are about 10x as expensive as can be found elsewhere on the Internet. If you're interested in using soluble dry products, there are far cheaper and more versatile methods for doing so. Either products from JRPeters, other dry blends, or mixing you're own salts. If you'd like to...
