    New grow space..input needed.

I am in an identical situation and would love to see any feedback others offer and to see the outcome of your space. My basement is also my office, so I am also constantly pacing around thinking up design ideas and looking up different things to consider. The only thing separating my work area...

    Using exhaust to control temperature

Yep. That is a very real concern of mine too because I am causing fluctuations by making all these changes and fiddling around with crap while the plants are growing.

    Using exhaust to control temperature

For what it's worth, I think it's working for me, albeit extremely small sample size and totally not a scientific test. I started this grow on 6/8 with 3 seeds: 1 was the last of a 3 pack of feminized Amnesia seeds and the other two are freebies I got which said they are regular. I think they...

    Using exhaust to control temperature

That's one of the reasons I'm hesitant to exhaust outside. That, and the fact that i don't want to cut holes in my house until I'm confident in where I want my space to be.

    Using exhaust to control temperature

I don't want to sound like I know shit about shit cuz I don't and this is only my second grow, but everything I've read says yes. Fluctuating conditions, poor environmental health and the like all lead to males. A stable environment, lowish temps, high ish humidity, light on the blue end of the...

    Using exhaust to control temperature

It does if the RH of the air being brought into the tent is lower than the RH you want in the tent. That is my "problem".

    Using exhaust to control temperature

I was gifted ~60 regular seeds so why not try to make as many females as possible.

    Using exhaust to control temperature

So Jorge Cervantes (and many other people) is wrong, then?

    Using exhaust to control temperature

That looks great and I've been kinda wanting something that does 2in1 on a single outlet but holy crap, $200 is a bit much. At any rate, I've done a bunch of tweaking with my tent and in doing so, I failed to realize that my humidifier is warm mist so that may be contributing just a tad. The...

    Using exhaust to control temperature

Holy crap thank you for this amazing idea.

    Using exhaust to control temperature

Yea, the worst I've seen the RH drop is still above the ambient RH of the basement but as mentioned, i am trying to keep it mid 70's in an attempt to promote for females plants. At any rate, this was really all the convincing I needed to ensure the exhaust is running more. I will find other ways...

    Using exhaust to control temperature

I'm not concerned at all about smell. We grow legally and the people that come around know we grow AND we all enjoy the smell. That said, i am going to be venting outside because venting humid air back into the basement is less than ideal.

    Using exhaust to control temperature

It's something like 1200sf and is not "finished" (exposed foundation and concrete floors). Oddly enough, the HVAC does not vent down here. I own the house and can build on as I see fit, so a proper grow room is in the works but I am finding that better ideas of how to use the space and what I...

    Using exhaust to control temperature

Right which is why I asked because if I leave the exhaust controlling the temp, then there is little to no air exchange during lights off. Is air curculating sufficient even if the only control I have for high RH during lights off is simply having the humidifier shut off at 75% which means...

    Using exhaust to control temperature

I guess I did leave something out: I have one vent open that has a dark cloth over it. It is on the opposite side of the exhaust.

    Using exhaust to control temperature

I am curious what problems I could encounter if I use my exhaust fan to control the temperature inside my tent. - grow space is my basement which includes a 5x5 tent for vegging and a 10x10 "room" for flowering. - Ambient temp in the basement right now (northern IL) is 71-72F/62%RH. I have a...

    Stunted + nutrient burn?

Intermediate update for any possible future thread readers I flipped to flower on 3/24 because I got sick of waiting and it seems to have been the right call. I have been able to prune all the discolored plant bits away and all the new growth since the flip is VERY healthy looking, save for a...

    Stunted + nutrient burn?

Another minor update. Going on month 4 of veg because I tried my damndest to fix whatever issue was plaguing my girls. I am not 100% confident I did, but they are growing steadily and I think the brown spots and yellowing has stopped progressing, so today i up-potted to 5 gallon pots in...

    Smell in veg

I am growing in two 3gallon fabric pots of a "living soil" (Purple Cow Indicanja) in a 2x3x5 tent in my basement under a viparspectra V600 blurple and I have been working to correct some problems that I think are calmag deficiencies mixed with weak soil, one of which was topdressing with some...
