600'sall the way man, the only reason to use a 400 instead is if you are limited on space....which your not so get the 600's they will pay for themselves in no time

i use one of the britta ones, it takes the tap water from 270 ppm to 70-80 so they do work, as the filter gets clogged the ppm will go up

i would grow as many as i could fit in there....but that means you would have to keep them trimmed real good so they wont shade the others

hey tom_420 i know what you mean about the light duct but its because the vents for the lights dont match up, plus you need a little extra for when you move the lights

regardless of what strain you grow there are a few tricks you can use to get what your after, if you pick the nugs when the trichs are cloudy it gives a little bit more of an up high also look for strains that are described as having an up or cerebral high, lots of hybrids will cary the sativa...

my guess is that you are pulling more cfm than the filter can handle, i had that same problem in my tent and i resolved it by getting a speed control to slow the fan a bit, also ona blocks placed in the room will do wonders for bits of smell that escape

thanks man, the last grow was some nl#5 x haze, it turned out real nice, the pics labeled current grow got destroyed by a stupid ex gf but i have since moved out and now i have some sour diesel, blue cheese and kandi kush that i just put in to flower a week ago, ill post some pics soon

the cfl "equivelent" is not the same as a true hps or halide.....thats not to say you cant grow good buds with them but dont get a few 150 watt equivelent cfl's and think your going to out grow a 600 hps, the ratings on those things are somewhat missleading

you can do organic in hydro, there are plenty of organic nutes for use in hydro, im using fox farm hydroponic grow big but im using sunshine mix, im also switching over to AN conisuer when im out of the fox farm, i was told by the guy at the store that for hydro their sensi A/B is the prefered...

i know this isnt your question but adding lime to the soil will give you a little more room to fuck up with ph

deffinintly go with the 600's you will get morer coverage, dont forget when your setting it up that you need some space to move around in the plants, wether that means making rows or just room on the side to move the containers when you got to get in there
