I just read this thread and had a thought ... peppers are insect pollinated, or self pollinated ... so if you don't have insects in your indoor grow, you won't get any cross-pollination at all.

I top them when they have 5 or 6 sets of nodes - by this stage the root system is well developed. When I cut the plant I leave 4 sets of nodes with large fan leaves. As the side shoots start to grow, I remove all but the 2 branches that I want to grow. Leaving the 4 pairs of fan leaves...

If you are using a net pot then you are not going to be able to remove the roots without damaging them.

I make it up to half strength and use the 1/2 strength nutes for every watering, making sure that about 1/3rd of what you pour into the pots flows out of the drain hole ... this way you are constantly flushing out the old and replacing with the new. My plants seem to be thriving on the 1/2...

A hermie will pollinate any other females you have in the same area. Chop it and smoke it - it will provide reasonable smoke while your other plants are growing.
