Javadog's Next Adventure

I have a question...

Is the male plant supposed to have a stronger smell than its female counterpart, or does being outside with diff light do it?
The boys are same flowering days as girls and even being in the wide-open smell really strong already.

EDIT

I think some pollen might have been released.
I am sneezing and sinuses congesting after messing with the boys.
I am allergic to all types of pollen.
The cold might have triggered the release or made them mature faster out of desperation lol....??

Well, I do know that males have their own characteristics and
these are used carefully to select males for breeding.

Resin amounts are one of the things they watch.

Strong males == strong seeds

Many never learn the male plant that well. I have yet to,
but will.

As to the "why" you are getting different results, unless they
were clones from the same mother then it is hard for me to say. Sorry!

Good luck,

JD

These are 2 males both from seed, so I know they will be different.
I was just noticing that they are similar, but still unique.
I find the males color interesting, as I have very lil exp with males as well, and most color I have gotten from the girls involved the leaves, save for 2 strains I have grown.

I was exclusively clones for 2 yrs, then have started slowly started utilizing the seeds gifted to me, and now have purchased some for the 1st time.
They should be here next week some time I hope!!

Cool. Enjoy the purchase. I have dropped about a grand
on seeds, but with the Old Timers Haze on the way, and me
trying to cross these beauties, I think that I deserve to work
on my own for a while.

Good luck,

JD

I have made a few crosses of my own, but havent tried any of them yet.

As far as hazes go, I think mine have stopped stretching now.
I havent adjusted the light in 4 days and dont need to yet.
The Mango Hazes are starting to smell some now as well.

Of course my Grape Krush smells already, as she always is fast!

Hey BW,

Thanks for stopping in. I have been enjoying the home stretch
of your current crop.

You can see that I am starting a couple of the TGAs you are doing,
so I have been appreciating seeing them in action.

Take care,

JD

SeedFinder shows this for PurpleBerry BX:

Blueberry X Purple Berry Diesel

Which is basically:

Blueberry X Blueberry X Sour Diesel IBL

This is the original BB.

Ok so this will be nothing like it lol.

I didnt think the dried bud pic looked like it would have come from your strain, but in case it was close I was willing to take a chance with it.

It still might be a nice strain, but completely different growth pattern, and almost certainly no tall colas.

I am sure that it will be tasty.

Carry on!

I am on a quest to have all purple or red or something calyxes from a plant to get it out of my system.
I had one from a clone, didnt take any cuts and it was small when I flowered her.
I got maybe 12-14 grams from her.
I still have enough to roll a joint, but that it :(

Oh and I got one seed from her that is now in the fridge.
I am not sure if the seed is selfed, or from me tending to males outside and spreading pollen accidentally.

I got five packs, but only got four into the first photo,
so I swapped one out and took a second shot.

These are some very interesting breeds, and not all of
them take half a flippin' year to produce, so I will start
them before too long.

Not in the next six months or so though, as I am already
experimenting with a "stable" of breeds and am trying to
decide how I will approach the upcoming crop's start time.

Thanks for stopping in.

BTW: I just tasted the Kosher Kush after a weeks cure and
it already has much more flavor. A very nice taste. I will
have to taste it again and will try to formulate a description.

It is still nice and strong.

Hello all,

I took a couple of shots right after the lights went off this morning.

The Somango is front and center, stealing the show, but the Blue Dream,
with a week less, is right behind it, literally and figuratively:

The column on the left is the slightly shorter plants that followed the CVMM
and Somango into the tent:

They are getting the light of the Kessils so I should not have to raise them.

Damn This Kosher Kush! Hack! Hack! Hack!
