Javadog's Next Adventure

Well, if we are talking about the Smart Pot brand, then I can state authoritatively :0)
that you can squeeze a 6X6 array of 36 smart pots into such a tent.

Now, this required cramming them together and this is not recommended. Air on
all sides is best.

....but:

it works fine. :0)

Heh heh...I keep trotting this picture out. But it was a crammed 2 gallon smart pot grow.

Good luck,

cant argue with those results! i need to measure my pots and see how many square feet they are. Your flower tent is a 4x4 right? or was it a 5x5?

Maybe a shade over 4' but much closer to that than 5'

Figure 8" across the bottom, 6 of them == 48" == four feet.

As Chef Tel says: Velly Zimple, Velly Easy!

Ah ok, maybe my math was right then thinking 30 3 gallons being good since my tent is the 5x5. Thinking moving forward is gonna start being 3 gallons vegged for about 3 weeks to a month. When my crop 1 is done I should have some good 30 day veggers to put it to replace them. Crops 1 and 2 are in 5 gallons to, so think I can probably fit 5 maybe even 6 3 gallons in the same space the 5 gallons are taking up. Slowly but surely everything seems to come together one way or another. Who knows, I could end up being so impressed with my sog I go back to that. I just really can't see myself filling the tent with 1 gallons again. I still am grumbling about my plant counts as it is lol. I have over 40 plants in flower...since I am renting I can't really secure my apartment against landlords inspections and shit. I can easily fit 80 1 gallons in the tent If i just did a full SOG...but damn that would be nerve racking for me in my currently living situation.

Even in that grow I had space issues....you might have seen the photo where that
Crop was still in the pots....I flowered the two mothers at the same time.

This was stupid in retrospect. It did not affect the yield. Each mother took the
space of four smaller pots and likely out yielded them.

The issue was with where I put the light.

I solved this by using the two Kessils 350s, gpretty much giving each mother
its own Kessil.

It occurs to me that I can just do this with my hempys. They will be one "column".

This would likely wipe out two columns of the 5X5 I envisioned, making for a
3 X 5 array of 2 gallon smart pots, plus one column of 5 gallon hempys.

Still working it out.

Yea i remember. Pretty much what I did to lol. Flowered mothers and the clones at same time i mean. I just got milk crates and lifted the clones up to make the canopy level. but its far from ideal the way it is. The more I think about it the more I am thinking of trying something similar to gangadownunders style. Do you follow his grow? Hes in the same setup we are, think his tent is just under 5x5. I mean longer veg times, but through some LST and training the plants don't get 5 foot tall lol. I still can't believe my 2 mothers got so fucking tall. 47 inches tall from soil to top lol Probably half of that is just wasted stem :( I am at the point now where I have enough plants to allow some to just veg and veg if I want to. Hell, maybe I will try a mainline. Time to smoke a bowl and ponder

Stay lit my friend!

Nice, I want to have a harvest like that hanging in my tent ;-)

Dude, if you choose to avoid dealing with the issue of watering each pot
then no worries. I understand. I made a watering can on a stick and found
a fixed amount that each plant could take each time....but it does make for
more effort.

Take care,

Yea whenever I figure out exactly what style I am gonna do and stick with it, I am going to set up a self watering system. I have done them many times in the past and they are pretty cheap to make and make life soooooo easy. You can do self watering completely with a timer, usually though I cheap out on the timer and just make it a simple switch and I control when and how long they water. Can also use it to feed nutes. Think I can set one up for my tent for around 150.

Thanks....his bushes do look just the right side.

For my part, I am going to add two more T-8s, to the underside
of a table in the man cave. I had lights in this position before,
as I fruited mushroom fruiting chambers on this shelf.

It is about 4' X 2' with maybe 20" of headroom, but this will be fine
for clones, bonsai mothers, and seedlings.

This would allow me to Veg about 12 Hempys in the current Veg
area that I have.

Still working it out.

Yea he has a good size for the 4x4 and 5x5 tents I think. Perfect for a 1000 watter to. The right amount of penetration, and not much would have to be trimmed off the buttom so less waste.

Can't go wrong with more t8s! I am assuming you already had them lying around? If your gonna go out and buy them, might wanna price the difference to get t5s.

Happy to help my friend. You have given me a lot of ideas to mull over to. Makes it all worth the time I spend in front of the computer to learn some new tricks to up my game. Every time I debate the SOG I think of your hanging to dry pic lol
