People who call themselves "hunters"

Ironic how jprin's antagonistic high horse riding self rightousness caused people from here to consume meat in the last 24 hours to spite him because of this thread. So now jprin you by proxy have the blood of innocent animals on your hand. I shall make some bacon tonight in your honor, which I didn't plan on doing but your thread has inspired me to go out and pick some bacon up.
Your body, not mine. This thread is full of cognitive dissonance from all the meat eaters. That's not an attack, either. The fact that vegetarian diets increase lifespan and decrease risk of disease, along with our physiology, shows we are herbivores. You can choose to eat meat, making you an omnivore, but that doesn't mean your body was meant to digest animal flesh. TRUE carnivores cannot get clogged arteries.. and atherosclerosis is one of the leading killers among humans.

I consume very little red meat and eat oatmeal nearly everyday for breakfast. Fish doesn't clog ones arteries, care to expound on that?

Please site the bolded statement. If its going to be some naturalnews link, don't bother. Site your argument with credible documentation.

I checked into and found a plethora of information about athersclerosis and found carnivores actually can get clogged arteries just like most other animals. The problem was when animals were fed diets not consistent with how they are designed to digest. Meat heavy diets caused clogged arteries in herbivores, and starch and sugar heavy diets caused clogged arteries in true carnivores.

I have not done enough research on the subject to get to the bottom of it, but a mere 5 minutes on google showed me several examples that are in contradiction with jtprins assertions.

Nothing he says should be taken seriously anyway. He is unable to evaluate evidence and draw accurate conclusions. He is easily swayed by pseudoscience and glosses over any information that fits his agenda without the slightest bit of scrutiny. He is a full on anti-vaxxer. Seriously, he is anti vaccine. That means he doesn't listen to reason or evidence.

Prove your sources. I just posted a link that proved the exact opposite, unless you remove the thyroid gland from carnivores.

Hell man, it isn't what you eat that is going to kill you, it is worrying about what you eat that will kill you. Now go kill something and eat it, a plant, or animal, something has to die, so that you may live, there is no way to skirt it m8, it is what it is.

Peace

By the way, I don't have an agenda. I was not raised vegan or vegetarian and I only know one other vegan. I made the decision to go vegan based on becoming more educated about nutrition and health in general. I also care about the life of other creatures... such a biased agenda!

Close, but not quite. I will circle back around to that in a moment.

But first, I argue that humans are omnivores; while in the womb, we require proteins, amino acids, and digest food, opportunistically from our mother as she consumes food. Once out of the womb, we humans, eat, and require both animal and plant matter in order to sustain health and reproduction. Based solely on this, I contend that humans are omnivores. Because we do not have claws does not rule out this fundamental truth. You are taking evolution out of the equation as is, Im afraid, your doctor you site.

Ok, back to Dr Quack-enstein. He is arguing that humans are herbivores because we have hands and claims we do not produce vitamin C without supporting why. As it turns out, humans at one point, did in fact produce vitamin C, or rather, we were able to synthesize the protein. As mentioned earlier, evolution. Humans have evolved, whereby a particular gene, gulonolactone oxidase, is no longer present in our digestive system. I could go on, but I don't wanna.

I said I haven't done enough research. I spent 5 minutes on google. I am unwilling to post links and make claims until I have thoroughly vetted the sources.

Vegetables aren't animals and no I do not eat any of those other things. I used to, but not anymore. Hunters hunt because they respect and care about the animals? How can you care about something you are about to shoot in the head? Humans are directly responsible for why a variety of animals are close to extinction.

You asked me to post a link proving herbivores cannot get atherosclerosis, and I did. Then you ignore that and start to pick and choose how humans MAY have (didn't even cite a source) produced their own vitamin C in the past. What about the entire laundry list of characteristics humans share with herbivores?

Our bodies naturally developed a taste for something because of the nutrients in those foods. You crave meat because you likely grew up eating it your entire life and had it forced down your throat since you were a kid. Just because you crave meat, that doesn't mean you're a carnivore and it's absolutely hilarious that you would even think so. Show you one herbivore with canines? Wow, way to show how ignorant you are on this topic yet trying to act like a genius. How about gorillas? Pandas, horses, deer? I hope that you realize that nothing of what you are saying is even relevant anyways. Nothing changes the fact that our physiology is 100% herbivorous and it's proven that not only does meat consumption increase risk of disease but it lowers lifespan as well. But go ahead, keep eating meat and thinking it's really good for even though you're filtering your nutrients through something else.
