Management can see the demise of the company YEARS AND YEARS before the workers can for the most part. Hostess isn't a publicly traded company, so there isn't a yearly accounting of the company in the hands of all the workers ( not that many of them would even know what to look for) who might also be stock owners. If management is at fault, then the rest is irrelvent. The point here is that Management isn't going to suffer the consequences as much as the workers are. They have been banking big since the last BK.
Think they would still be in business if the union DEMANDED a pay Cut and Benefit reduction? I think they would. In a wordBullshit
Ok man.Think they would still be in business if the union DEMANDED a pay Cut and Benefit reduction? I think they would.
Because we can't compete with the rest of world someone making middle class pay wages stuffing Twinkies is asinine. Hostess main competitor is non-union and less than half price, you cannot compete with something like that especially in tight times. We will have many more examples of this in the coming years.Ok man. So next week when you go in to work, hand back a 3rd of your paycheck to your boss. It's helping the company right? Why should someone whose making a middleclass income take a pay-cut while the people in charge soak up even more money? That's predatory corporate management tactics.
So let's pay everyone a dollar a day so we can compete with chinese workers.Because we can't compete with the rest of world someone making middle class pay wages stuffing Twinkies is asinine. Or do nothing and have no jobs, we will see how long that boat stay afloat. I am not saying cut them to 1 dollar but as long as we can ship it over seas process it and ship it back and still make profit over making it here, we can't compete. You're also ignoring the obvious that paying someone 40-50k to make bread/stuff Twinkies is ridiculous. That is a $10 wage job everywhere else in the country. So let's pay everyone a dollar a day so we can compete with chinese workers.
Comparing the unionized worker to a sweatshop employee is foolish.Because we can't compete with the rest of world someone making middle class pay wages stuffing Twinkies is asinine. You can't fucking do it, it impossible some jobs will always be less desirable than other you will always have wage discrepancies. No one is going to pay 20dollar an hour to a fucking burger flipper(or twinkle stuffer) especially one that doesn't have enough competency to know what "no fucking pickles" means. We have en abundance of low educated people you cannot artificially raise the worth of them. I also didn't bring up sweatshops I just mentioned union vs non union and sweatshops got thrown in as a straw man.Comparing the unionized worker to a sweatshop employee is foolish. We can't compete with the rest of the World because GOP-corporate loving fatcats have made it seem "un-American" to demand a fairdays pay. And then, they turn around and set in place trade practices that actually encourage companies to outsource production because they incure no real penalties for it. Now is the time where we have to reward companies who keep their jobs here, which gives benefits to people using fair practices. And then on the other end, impose strict taxes and tariffs on any company who don't want to play nice. It's not going to cripple business. There is plenty of room for profit margin even when you treat your employees decently. Don't believe the hype that people in boardrooms pay for to make you think your "American Dream" is being threatened. They are the true threat to the way of life we all cherish here.
Cut your pay. That is if you even have a jobThink they would still be in business if the union DEMANDED a pay Cut and Benefit reduction? I think they would.
You mentioned international competition. You can't fucking do it, it impossible some jobs will always be less desirable than other you will always have wage discrepancies. Those assembly line jobs suck total ass. You couldnt pay me enough to do them. And those that complain about those "union" jobs probably wouldnt last a week at any pay rateYou mentioned international competition. Our "competition" over there is sweatshop labor. No strawman, just facts..Just because they dress it up and call them factories, doesn't mean the pays any higher or the suicide rate of employees any lower.Of course you can't pay burger flippers $20, that's why we have minimum wage.To join a Unionized Trade, the assumption is that you are entering a lifelong career that requires alot of training and experience to perform. You sit there and call out assembly line guys for their "easy jobs", that's a load of crap. You don't know what their job responsibilities are, and you certainly have never had to do them yourself.
HAHA yeah I do call out assembly line jobs because it's a joke. For everyone that is union there are 30 that isn't, union does not equate competence only inflated prices. Takes a real fucking daisy to stack plastic bumpers all day long. You mentioned international competition. Our "competition" over there is sweatshop labor. No strawman, just facts..
