OMG Elizabeth Warren is such a socialist

At least someone is thinking. I was surprised that Mame couldn't figure it out, he is a fairly bright kid. Probably didn't have a graph.
I understand what you're saying, but I reject it.

Not everything leads to a snowball effect like you describe, or as MuyLoco likes to call it "the cancer of progressivism". Taxes are a part of life and my city chose to tax for the purpose of subsidizing affordable and efficient transportation; There is absolutely nothing wrong with that Democratic decision. To suggest that same logic leads to subsidizing car ownership is ridiculous in my view.

we aren't arguing about that at all, where have you been? We are arguing whether or not businesses should be made to pay extra taxes on top of what they already pay because they somehow gain from the public infrastructure .We ALL gain from the public infrastructure and we ALL pay for them in one way or another. Businesses aren't the only ones gaining benefits from public transportation systems, you even noted this with your own stories of when you use the MAX. Isn't the whole idea of taxing everyone to pay for things everyone can use in order to make things better for all? Isn't it? Or are taxes only something wealthy individuals and the businesses should have to pay? You can see why no one would want to start a business in this country or live here and be wealthy. Tax em extra and find out how fast people can close their doors and make 10% unemployment look like a walk in the park. You can't tax a business that doesn't exist.

I don't think I've ever used the term "cancer of progressivism", but I like it. Mind if I use it?

I also don't have a problem with state and local governments charging as much tax as they like. I can move from a city/state and take my business with me. The problem I have is with what I would deem unfair taxation at the federal level. You can't escape that stupidity, it sticks with you like herpes.

Taxes aren't only for the wealthy, but you already know I believe in a progressive system for a plethora of reasons. You guys act like progressive taxation is morally reprehensible, like it's the devil or something but do you have any alternatives? A flat tax system would bring along with it plenty economic issues, most notably economic instability and widening income inequality ... I mean, there's a reason almost every strong nation has a progressive system rather than a flat system. Are we all just missing something? Or is your position built solely on moral grounds?

Hm, I was pretty sure that was you, my mistake; Must've been Charlie Ventura or someone else idk.

My issue is the system is so biased for the wealthy. This is a country (world) for the rich, by the rich, of the rich where everyday laws, regulations and rights are twisted and manipulated by lobbiests and big money in their favour. Untill we storm the Fed Reserve with torches and pitch forks, I think the rich should be taxed a little bit more. Especiallyy during these hard economic times when so many people have been trapped in the debt/interest increase whirlpool that many of them have engineered to make you fail, forclose and prevent you from declaring bankruptcy.

the top 200 people in this country have more money than the rest of us combined. ever think about taxing them a little? it sounds like u would be in favor of giving them more and taking more from the poor, like basically all the public programs that we have left. the conservative media has u honed in on the poor for a reason, which is to take the spotlight off the rich. yr blind as a bat

I say we reduce taxes on everyone. Taxing businesses more will only make them close their doors and stop hiring people. You sound like you want the unemployment rate to be much higher.

Taxes are lower than anytime in your short hateful life. The employers will hire when they get sick of paying overtime and the demand is their. Taxes have nothing to do with hiring

HEH HEH

Too bad you obviously have no clue what the fuck you're talking about...

Hint: Demand creates jobs.

let me know when we try out this trickle up economy, as we are currently still employing the supply side, trickle down technique.

little or nothing trickles down, those at the bottom have little to no money to spend (besides to live on), demand shrinks, jobs go.

and this broke (not poor) person currently has several people in his employ. so suck it.

wtf man, you guys are arguing too damn much. I don't even think you all understand that your all on the same side, but everyone on here has different levels of understanding. Were supposed to smoke pot and unite our minds not squabble.
Facts:
1# 99%(number pulled str8 outta my ass) of big business and big government doesn't give a fuck about you except how you can make them more money.
2# big business and government are in cahoots, always have and always will
3# they want all the damn wealth and nothing less. Hell they've brainwashed economics and most the world that profits are paramount, when that's only the case if money is the only thing important to you.
4# Rich people/big business don't pay taxes they have loopholes and high paid accountants and lawyers(its like the equivalent of taxing themselves)
5# The Taxes you pay really is just modern day mafia style protection money. Most of it is used for war(aka protection), you must pay or else..., the roads are not for your benefit but theirs.(how else are they gonna mobilize) Education was shit and is now less than that.

Humans are greedy as fuck by nature, even more so to strangers and even more so if its acceptable in your morale book. So the guy on top is really only thinking about himself, that's part of the reason that he's on top. Then you have to remember that this same bastard is not only probably twice as smart as you, but has a team of some of the greatest minds that's twice as smart as him. So your at a huge disadvantage.
I read through a shit load of bullshit to post this so don't flame my ass. I'm just saying burn/vape one, leave your emotions in the ash and don't forget your enemies (not each other) psychology has taken this shit to another level since the 70/80's.
Last but not least if someone says the government/big business is fucking us then he's always right(though his reasoning may be wrong), shit history alone should tell you that. They always fuck the weak/minority and yes poor is a minority, the majority is dictated by wealth in this generation. This is war my fellow pot smokers, and the very first thing on the agenda is always to identify the enemy.
Peace, n good luck unfucking the government... STONERS UNITE! :D

who said anything about taxing small business. im talking about the elite rich. why do u support making them richer and us poorer. GE paid no taxes in 2010, and earned record profits, but yet unemployment isnt any lower

hah ya must be. u know what would be nice... rebuilding our infastructure, education programs, public programs, roads and bridges before they all collapse. but where would we get the money for that? maybe we could take a small fraction from the rich, who benefit from our education roads bridges? na fuck it let em all fall.

Because the government isn't going to tax the ultra wealthy elite rich, they are going to tax anyone making $250,000+. In case you haven't noticed most small businesses are in that category. When small businesses cannot make a profit they fire everyone and close the doors. You can have demand up the wazoo, but if there is no profit no one but the government will make the product or provide the service.
