225 Gallon Smart Pot Super Soil

Some changes have been made to the garden since last update. The previous re-potting and unforseen bad weather has made me reconsider the black box idea for all but maybe two of the 20 gallon containers (fire og and sfv og) . i just felt like they weren't going to yield enough. so i purchased four 200 gallon pots filled at least half way with the following: five 32 gallon garbage cans of hot (left over from re amending previous containers) divided equally among the four containers. 1 bag bio bizz light and 1 bale sunshine mix no.4. for each pot. Two of the containers also got top dressed with .5 cubic foot bag of alaskan humus i watered in and foliar fed with some aact (molasses, kelp, humic acid, handful each of ewc and humus) brewed for 24 hours. They seem to be loving their new homes.

If you use CFL's for supplemental lighting at night,
why don't you at least try to hang them a few inches from plants?
I know that if they see that light for more than a few hours they'll stretch at least a little.
Are you trying to make them tall or dense?

I've never done it personally so I wouldn't know any exceptions, please clue me in on why you hang them several feet away?

the cfls are only to keep them from flowering. you need a minimum # of foot candle to do this. these plants are pretty big, if the cfl was placed right on top of the plant, the spectrum wouldnt cover the whole plant. no it does not cause stretching.

hey man plants are lookin great! what type of material can you use for the tarp thats breathable? ive got some light coming from surrounding neighbors. also on overcast nights, the lights from the town reflect off the sky lol. its not bright or anything, but i can see the plants at night, so i know its bad. so when flowering time comes, i need to have a place i can put them in total darkness. ideas?

when i was in high school, i taught my pitbull to bark and howl when i put my finger up to my lips. like when u tell someone to be quiet

so it doesnt really have to be that dark? as long as theyre used to that amount of light being night time?

Man looking so nice and green. I been lurking following your thread and your shit seemed to have just took off. what part of the state are you in, my plants had a growth spurt over the weekend. It seems like when the temps get below 90 around here my plants shot up like they have been storing energy waiting and then bam.

located in sf bay area. we had a great week in late april then may and early june were terrible. this heat wave we are currently in (nearing triple digits) has really gotten them to take off.

I hear ya & you need to get some C02 on those babies when the heat rises

Keep up the great work

please take this in the light of healthy debate. but i dont know about releasing co2 outdoors. imo it seems like a total waste. i have never tried it so i cant speak from experience. i can however speak on using lots of it indoors. it seems expensive enough filling up my 50 pound tanks in a totally sealed room, let alone letting it roam free in the atmosphere. if i can get a real greenhouse set up with all the bells and whistles of de-humidification, air conditioning air exchange, then i would probably would run 4 50 # tanks on two co2 monitors.

question for you T: are you using co2 to thicken your flowers? and was your statement to me about co2 and heat about the plant handling the heat more easily? or just so they will grow thicker and more aggressively? My flowers last year were soda can thick with no co2 fwiw.

I am working on a way to work with C02 outside but do not have my test data ready yet to be public so stay tuned for that

And from my understanding as the temps rise in th mid 80's the more C02 you add - up to 1500 ppm you can greatly enhance your plants growth given a proper environment much like your yard

I have one test plant one C02 now & she is the best plant I have grown to date & you can see the growth during the day one the gas vs without from my testing so far
