A Change from LED to HPS- Path Worth Taking!

no carbon filter- i smoke alot of weed at my house so the smell of fresh chron aint much dif or abig deal-im just hookin up the 8 in 500cfm inline fan to suck the air out of the hood then putting the ducting from the other side of fan to outside or top of closet. still dont know if ill need another intake or exhaust will have to c.
 
That 500cfm fan should take care of heat problems as long as the temps inside your house aren't too hot

So whats wrong with my buds? In my experiencs they are much better quality than hps. I welcome anyone to look at any pics I post, no shame in my game. Tom you really should try using something before you bag on it. Against the advice of all my closed minded hps friends I gave em a try and happend to like them. They seem to think I stumbled onto something positive as well. Until you or any other led haters do the same you really have no room to speak on the topic of led's. I happen to do most of my growing under the sun, is that wrong too because its light other than hps?

its all set up and the fan is doing pretty good. its not real powerful since its a cheap 30.00 one. my house does get HOT in the summer so i may still need to add another fan, maybe get an active air blower. i have a fan in there for circulation and still need to go pick up a thermometer. feels like its not too warm though which is good.

I would order that fan if your using 8 inch ducting
And this fan if your using 6 inch ducting:

The fan you have is def not going to cut it, 90°F is too hot
I would go back to the LEDs until the temps are situated... rather stretched plants than burnt plants yah know?

ill check those out. ya i know what your saying but i dont got any plants right now so no big deal. possibly getting some of the pre 98' bubba clones tomorrow. so i will turn off the HPS and throw up the LEDs for a little. thanks again.

EDIT: just checked those fans- they look solid and do you think that the 435 would be strong enough? or should i use my 8" to 6" converter on the 745?

Are you using a passive intake or just letting the air coming in through the cracks around the door?
If you are using a passive intake than you can attach ducting to it and attach the other end to a window a/c vent or central a/c vent
I attach my ducting to a window a/c and that helps keep the temps down good in the summer as the cold air coming in keeps things right where they need to be

for now just allowing the air to come through the cracks. will possibly have to add some intake. do you prefer inline fans over exhaust blowers? and did you possibly see my edit?

Well I am using a 306cfm inline fan for my 250w right now and when it gets a little too warm the room that the cab is things heat up
I am adding a second 250w and am planning on getting that 435cfm inline fan to cool it
If your hood is air cooled I think that fan would cut it
Me personally, I would get the 8 inch to be sure and if it is too strong you could get a fan speed controller and slow it down to get the temps just right

alright thanks for the great help and quick response. im probably going to look into that 8 in fan and just us my converter thats on my 8in fan now, to get it to the 6in ducting for the hood. its an easycool 6in. then possible use the other fan for some intake to bring in fresh air as i take the hot air out.
 
That would be excellent, if you can... attach the 8-6" reducer directly to the reflector and run 8" ducting from the light to the fan
That way there will be as little restriction as possible
I mean using 6" ducting will be fine but it would be better on the fan to use 8" ducting

alright sounds great. im going to stop by a local grow shop and see if i can get a fan from them instead of having to order one and wait again. ill take some pics of what im working with in a few.
