Disagree with this. It's far easier for a new grower to figure out how to switch lighting from 18/6 to 12/12 and plug any light leaks than it is to make sure their feeding and growing techniques are on point from day one so that the plant isn't stunted or riddled with deficiencies when flower auto triggers.They are golden for the new grower. Simple easy basic grow stuff with no worries of light leaks or darkness schedules.
That said, OP has said he has 25 years general gardening experience, so he should be able to address any issues quickly and incorporate techniques to maximize yield.
