I was just thinking about all the shit I would get done if I was banned.
Have the rules around here changed in the past year? Or is it the way they are enforced and interpreted?
I can understand wanting to move towards a more moderate forum and the admins are removing the trolls, so less effort is required on our part. The experience of other social media platforms might be having an effect and this site is ad supported too. There are ways of making one's point creatively, and while staying inside the rules, but a bit more good will is required and tolerance for other POVs, no matter how misguided or stupid. Trying to talk sense to a Trumper was always a challenge, now more so than ever. If these issues tear apart families over the kitchen table, they can make a mess of a site like this pretty quick.

Hey civil society and the rule of law are what we are all about? Those here with common sense can lead by example, but nobody is perfect including me. America is a society and nation in social and political flux as big changes are stirring over the next few election cycles. If someone is expressing ideas, even bad ones, there should be no problems, even the idea of burning Trump at the stake on the capitol lawn!

The heat is on everybody around Trump and working for him, Jack will have him stripped bare of lackeys soon.
Donald will need to lean on the GOP congress to the maximum and squeeze Kevin real hard for a distraction at least. Mitch is watching and Rove is cheerleading Donald's downfall. Mark Meadows must be cooperating with Jack too, or he needs a new lawyer.

I must not be doing it right, I just don't get that mad at the internet. Also, I sound very very silly trying to rage post. George Santos gave me some good advice from his time ruling France and now I just let them eat cake.

Anywho, I'm adjusting my previous view that other opportunistic dems will go after biden and ask him to step down from "not likely" to "more likely than trump going to jail for anything." Having a sense of integrity and admitting fault is not great...its like when I realized you can just not open the door for the police. If they have a warrant they aren't knocking, if they don't then have no obligation to talk to them and it can only hurt you.

In a normal presidency, someone brings the docs to him and takes them away when he is finished, they are responsible for the tracking and logging of classified materials and all documents. They are already zeroing in on a staffer currently at the Pentagon, but not for long! There are also several layers of responsibility before it gets into Biden's realm, that is in a normally functioning WH. Trump never staffed out the WH and ignored the procedures and protocols and he personally went though the boxes and confessed on TV, "they are mine". He tore up documents and flushed them down the toilet while Mark Meadows burned them in the fireplace. No comparison between the two, the cases are based on a completely different set of facts. In such cases mens rea must be proven, knowledge and intent, and with Trump that base is well covered.

The things we talk about are ones that have affected people's lives, caused loss of loved ones and grief. To not respond with some emotion on a topic that touched one's life would be unhuman. I would not have to be banned if we had to respond like this:

Biden was not president when he left these documents in unsecure place. I think a question that should be asked is why would the vice president take classified documents and put them in an unsecure place?

you mean the vice president’s assistants.

Are you suggesting that Biden's assistance put documents that were classified in the building while Biden was teaching at a college? Are you also suggesting that they left classified documents in a box next to his Corvette?
I’m suggesting they misplaced the documents into a box that incidentally ended up near his car. Have you any indication that he knew what was in the boxes before the discovery was made? I doubt it. His unprompted compliance with investigators speaks against your insinuation. This does not begin to compare to “it’s not theirs! It’s mine!”

So yes. I believe he had no agency in the mislaying/inclusion of the documents.

Do you think that question has not been asked? Is so, what purpose other than answering that question would Garland have for appointing a special counsel to investigate this issue? In other words, what is your complaint?

If he didn't, wouldn't he still be responsible for what those underneath him do? I trust the AG will figure it all out.

He has the same procedures as the POTUS, that is why they have done things that way, to avoid shit like this. Trump never staffed out the WH and ignored procedures, protocols and rules.

The key in both the Trump and Biden cases is mens rea, intent and knowledge, Trump went through the boxes personally and confessed on TV, "they are mine"! Then there is the very serious matter of obstruction of justice that Trump will be charged with. There is a reason they follow such conventions and when they don't they leave themselves open like Trump. With Trump the investigation is about sending him to prison for his crimes, with Biden it will be a matter of administrative oversight by a staffer and they already zeroed in on one.

I would honestly believe it's possible that Biden just forgot about all of these documents. He has demonstrated memory loss. I think now twice he's publicly said his son died in Iraq and he should know better ,that never happened.

I am always fascinated by people who fixate on the mote in the Democrat’s eye while neglecting the plank in the Republican’s. It has become a cognitive disorder of millions of voters.

It is common knowledge, read the news and keep up, these procedures have been around for a long time. In a properly functioning WH and even after they serve, people bring them the docs, then take them away and care of them, it is their responsibility. There are protocols, logs and people responsible for tracking them, all they have to do is follow the rules to like Biden did and an underling takes the blame.
