Who gives a fuck! The Country has far more to worry about like the Border and inflation
I give a fuck about the rights of half of this country's population being stripped away by a court in a ruling that was based on false history.

What does that have to do with the border and inflation? Or the most recent slaughter of an unarmed and innocent black man by the police?

Rubio proposes child support regulations beginning at conception
Senators Marco Rubio (R-Florida) and Kevin Cramer (R-North Dakota) introduced a bill Wednesday that would allow mothers to collect child support beginning at conception.

The bicameral bill would amend the Social Security Act “to ensure that child support for unborn children is collected and distributed under the child support enforcement program.”

Under the bill, mothers would be able to request child support from the month of conception onward, but would not be required to do so.

Mothers would also be able to choose whether to collect child support payments retroactively through the month of conception, including if paternity is only established after the birth of the child.

“Caring for the well-being of our children begins long before a baby is born. It begins at the first moment of life — conception — and fathers have obligations, financial and otherwise, during pregnancy,” Cramer said of the bill.

Eight Republican senators are cosponsoring the bill, including Sens. Steve Daines (R-Mont.), Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), James Lankford (R-Okla.) and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.).

Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) introduced partner legislation to the Unborn Child Support Act in the House.

“I hope good legislation, like the Unborn Child Support Act, gets more support now that the Dobbs decision encourages us to look more seriously at supporting mothers and their unborn children,” Hyde-Smith said in support of the bill.

The Unborn Child Support Act is one of multiple bills proposed by Republicans aiming to support mothers in the wake of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling, which overturned Roe v. Wade.

Rubio on Thursday introduced another bill, the Standing with Moms Act, as part of the “pro-life, pro-family framework” he rolled out after the Dobbs decision.

The framework includes proposals to expand the child tax credit, provide additional funding to the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and make the adoption tax credit fully refundable, among others.

Republicans are also responding to criticism from both the public and their Democratic colleagues accusing them of a lack of care for mothers and children after they have been born.

“Not only do they want to force women to have children if they are pregnant, but when they do have them, they don’t want to provide any support for them,” Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) told The Washington Post earlier this year.

Washington and Lee University Law School Professor Carliss Chatman posted a viral tweet in May, reading: “If a fetus is a person at 6 weeks pregnant, is that when the child support starts?…Just figuring if we’re going here we should go all in.”

Hollywood has also weighed in on the child support question after Roe’s demise.

“In States where abortion is illegal the father should be financially on the hook at the moment of conception,” actor Ken Olin tweeted days after Dobbs was handed down.

In a statement, Cramer referenced a Bucknell University Institute for Public Policy poll indicating that child support payments beginning at conception have some “popular support.”

The poll found that about half of respondents favored the payments beginning at conception, including 53 percent of Democrats, 47 percent of Republicans and 40 percent of independents.
i like the idea, but not how he has couched his pro life propaganda as part of it...they should reinstate RVW AND implement this act, nationwide...and AGGRESSIVELY chase down dead beats.

the border? where all the people looking for work that Americans won't do are?
you know that there are 618,000 tons of peaches grown in the US annually? and they need to be hand picked.
there are 1.14 MILLION acres of sugar beets grown in the US annually...that all need to be hoed, multiple times.
there was 9 million tons of citrus harvested last year, all by hand...
so yeah, lets shut down the border, so the already labor stressed agricultural industry can shut down, and we can all have little gardens in our back yards if we want any fresh produce...because all of those people are drug mules, and gang members, and child traffickers....
how can you believe that ignorant stupid fucking crap?
this explains it in simple concepts...
https://www.fwd.us/news/immigrant-farmworkers-and-americas-food-production-5-things-to-know/
Americans are lazy motherfuckers who will not do this kind of work, at any rate of pay...it cannot be automated...I GOT IT!...let's hire the Keebler elves to pick strawberries and hoe beets...oh, right, they're all gay, that's almost as bad as being a wetback...
why do ignorant people keep having opinions? no, i'm really asking, i figure you must know the answer to that question...

More rightwing terrorism in the name of the "unborn", too bad they have no problem with them being killed after they are born and oppose all measures to reduce and stop it. Right to life my ass, they kill people for the "unborn", next it will be for the "undead", zombie rights. Why not, many worship a zombie who rose from the dead and have a zombie as their best fucking friend! This zombie even eats their brains too.

Texas Paul REACTS to Fox News Calling 10-Year-Old Victim a Liar
44,009 views Jul 16, 2022 This past week the right wing echo chamber, led by Fox News and top Republicans, shamelessly called a 10-year-old a liar until it was clear that they had it wrong the whole time. The network then pivoted to claiming that they were the reason the story was investigated and sought revenge against the doctor who provided the young child care. Even the Indian Attorney General got in on the action, threatening to prosecute the doctor. Texas Paul reacts.

#BoycottWalgreens trends after people say they were denied birth control pills, condoms
#BoycottWalgreens trended on Twitter after users shared stories of being denied birth control and condoms by pharmacists with a “moral objection” to their use.

Abigail Martin, a TikTok creator with almost 900,000 followers, said in a video uploaded on her page earlier this month that a pharmacist told her they will not refill her birth control prescription and she needs to call her medical provider.

She said her doctor’s office told her that she had four refills left, and they do not know why the pharmacy would not refill the prescription.

Martin said she then received two texts from Walgreens about her prescription — the first saying that it was delayed and another saying that it was out of stock.

Martin said she had run out of pills in the time that passed.

Walgreens said in a tweet in 2018 in response to a question from a user that the company allows pharmacists to “step away” from filing a prescription if they morally object to it, but they should refer the prescription to another pharmacist or manager to meet a patient’s needs in a “timely manner.”

She said she called Walgreens, and another pharmacist told her she could refill her prescription. The pharmacist added that the pharmacy had been having issues with women being refused birth control in the past two weeks.

“First they want us to stop getting pregnant and having abortions, and then they don’t want to help us prevent that pregnancy,” Martin said.

Her video has almost 4 million views as of Tuesday.

The outcry on Twitter comes in the aftermath of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, which guaranteed a constitutional right to abortion. More than a dozen states have moved to ban or severely restrict abortion access following the the high court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

Some activists and lawmakers have also expressed concerns that the overturning of Roe could open the floodgates for other landmark cases to be overturned, like Griswold v. Connecticut, which protects access to birth control.

Fraser Engerman, the senior director of external relations for Walgreens, told The Hill that these types of incidents are uncommon, and the company works to meet the needs of its customers while respecting staff members’ beliefs.

“Instances like this are very rare and our policies are designed to ensure we meet the needs of our patients and customers while respecting the religious and moral beliefs of our team members,” Engerman said. “We require the employee to refer the transaction to another employee or manager on duty who will complete the customer’s transaction.”

One Twitter user said on Sunday that her coworker relies on the birth control pill for health issues, but Walgreens declined her refill.

In addition to preventing unwanted pregnancy, the pill can also have positive effects for health conditions like iron deficiency, infections and some endometrial and ovarian cancers, according to Planned Parenthood.

Another Twitter user named Nate Pentz said a cashier at Walgreens told his wife, Jess, that he would not sell her condoms because of his faith. The cashier offered to bring a manager over.

Jess filed a complaint with Walgreens, saying the cashier embarrassed her in front of other customers for her personal choice.
the answer to that is real easy...question during the interview "do you have any problems selling people contraceptives?"
if the answer is yes, the next question should be "can you find your own way out?"

Austin City Council Forwards Abortion Decriminalization
The Austin, Texas, City Council approved legislation Thursday that limits funds for maintaining health records and urges law enforcement to ignore statewide abortion laws, The Hill reported.

A source informed the outlet that Austin's bid serves as an attempt to circumvent new restrictions on abortion in Texas that have taken effect since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last month.

The Guarding the Right to Abortion Care for Everyone Act ''does not directly halt enforcement, but it severely limits the ability of the city or any staff to collect or provide evidence for prosecutions,'' a spokesperson for City Councilman José Vela said.

''It also preemptively bans surveillance of anyone, or anything related to suspected abortions outside of some limited exceptions, like coercion or force,'' the spokesperson added.

The GRACE Act, passed by the council in a special meeting this week, also includes funding for birth control options such as medically induced abortions, tubal ligation and vasectomies.

''Anti-choice legislators have weaponized the language of criminal law to stigmatize reproductive choice, and the Council considers the phrase 'abortion, miscarriage, or other reproductive healthcare acts' to accurately encompass all criminalized acts under Texas laws that seek to criminalize pregnancy outcomes,'' a draft resolution of the edict read.

City council members are mainly targeting Texas' 2021 heartbeat ban, which prohibits abortion after six weeks in almost all cases. The law also rewards individuals $10,000 for reporting health care providers that perform the procedure.

''Texas is a pro-life state, and we have taken significant action to protect the sanctity of life,'' Republican Gov. Greg Abbott said on June 24. ''Texas has also prioritized supporting women's healthcare and expectant mothers in need to give them the necessary resources so that they can choose life for their child.''

it doesn't sound like they're all right to life...sounds like quite a lot of them are pretty pro choice. perhaps if they have a statewide vote about abortion, they would discover that maybe they're actually in the minority?...

By Texas standards, Austin is 1 part Haight-Ashbury and 2 parts Satan.
