I am sad that the renaming campaign failed. Webb’s power as an administrator was marred by his active campaign to find and fire the sexually unconventional, regardless of achievement.Replacement for the Hubble.

Think of it as more of an add on for time being. Can't wait to see the first pictures it takes...Replacement for the Hubble.

IGlad you liked it guys. What are the chances of life eh? So many zeros before we get to the one, right? 0.00000000000000000000000000000000001. Like life itself. Maybe we truly are universes' consciousness. Just maybe same patterns all around its amazing how much we can learn and apply to our lives through anything really, and anyones problem, metaphoric. Everything through everything. Damn there i go again. Ill stop now
That’s was a half hour well spent, watching that.
This didn’t seem to get much press; or maybe someone here mentioned already-After @neosapien posted that seriously cool Crew Dragon thread, I became slightly motivated to have an “astronomy and spaceflight”-themed thread in T&T.
Today I found the article that moved me to start the thread. Venerian microbes ... how cool would that be?

Please none of that bullshit in this thread.Oumuamua as alien probe delivers corona virus to earth. Let the dust settle.
So that means no tinfoil hats he he he ha ha ha hePlease none of that bullshit in this thread.

It would be fascinating if it revisits a Hubble Deep Field coordinate. From the looks of it, the James Web is working out, mirrors are open, guessing a few more diagnotics and then the first pictures......wonder what they they are gonna go after first....
that would be cool.....i would like to see if they get a better picture of M87's black hole, or even ours a Sag AIt would be fascinating if it revisits a Hubble Deep Field coordinate.
The scope is specialized for very far targets. Those gold mirrors will follow the Lyman-alpha line into the infrared. I wanna know what is at redshift 20+.that would be cool.....i would like to see if they get a better picture of M87's black hole, or even ours a Sag A
They found very simple structures that could be abiotic chemistry on primordial feedstocks going on. This news is not enough to make me sit up.This didn’t seem to get much press; or maybe someone here mentioned already-

NASA has found evidence of life’s building blocks on Mars
Perseverance, NASA’s Mars rover, has found evidence of organic chemicals, life’s building blocks, on the planet. The team behind the rover announced the discovery on Wednesday. It’s not quite the proof of life that many have been hoping for, but it’s definitely an intriguing find. NASA just...www.yahoo.com
That thing looks like it has some serious lift.Well, they scrubbed the Virgin Orbit launch. I still managed to see something cool: Proteus being towed to the flight line. Some small hardware pod was underslung.
