Thanks for the kind words man. You learn to live with mental pain as well as physical. Compared to so many mine is not so bad.I'm happy you were able to transition into replacing pharmaceuticals with cannabis products. That is a very valuable life improvement that will serve you well. Depression is very tricky, I'm happy you've found the drive to be active and do the things you enjoy.
We have things set up to operate in Canada in the future. Initially we will be launching with just our Elite and Mini, no DIY COB kits. Our fixtures are precision machine drilled, so I would think the consistency of just having finished products to buy would outweigh any DIY kit benefit. I will consider it though. Our Elite would replace your 1000W HID in spectacular fashion. It is comprised of 13 COBs arranged in equidistance, with 8 lower-powered Samsung Strips along the perimeter, to relieve the natural centralized intensity in the footprint. If you have any questions about DIY, I am happy to answer. I truly hope you find further remedy for your depression. Its great that you have things to keep you active and out of the negative head spaces. Be well my friend.
I might have forgot to mention that I also worked in a 2 - 3 man machine shop for 5 years with a German Master machinist that loved to teach and have a buttload of tools for wood, metal and automotive that I know how to use well. My neighbour is cool about letting me make things or work on my vehicles in his fully equipped heavy duty farm shop. Pull engines out of a Mack in there if you need too. I thought I had a lot of tools.
I think I did a pretty good job on my little DIY unit. Used aluminum angle iron to mount the fixtures on. Drilled and tapped a few holes for machine screws and kept everything square like Gus taught me. Wired it to code tho probably not quite as the back is open. All the bulbs are on 6" centers.
I'm too poor to pay people to fix things so it's DIY or DWO.
Use it up, wear it out.
Make it do, or do without.
Thanks for the info and maybe by the time you're settled in Canada I'll be ready to part with some cash.
