Hey Folks,

The plant didn’t recover, it started to get worse so I did away with it. I’m glad I did because it was really wearing on me. Here she is before I chopped it.

It was so light green and it seems like it’s furthering onto my seedlings. I’m not getting very good growth with the new plants. These seedlings will be a month old on the ninth and it’s barely on its third set of true leaves. They are also showing purple stems and light green leaves. The soil they are in is Fox Farms’s Light Warrior with my Castings at a pH of 7. There at the bottom You can see how dark the new seedling (fem C99s1 from Duke Diamond’s vault) compared to the other Mad Cap plants. The nights were really cold, maybe 55 degrees and humidity was under 40, now it’s at 80 with rh at 50< After adding a humidifier in there and moving it into another room. It’s been in there for a week and I added the humidifier yesterday.

The seedling is in a mixture of Happy Frog and Light Warrior. Is it my light? My plants don’t seem to be drying out either. I can go 4 days without watering them and even though the water meter reads dry, the leaves don’t fall. Has anyone had these problems with a Quantum Board or and I just really fucking up?

Tomorrow i’ll Be giving them a foiliar of Alfalfa Tea. Hopefully that’ll give them a much need boost.

Day 50

Hey Folks,

I’ll admit it, out of everything I think I know about Cannabis, watering is a subject I know the least about. let me walk you through the last 14 days with me, including recipes, and how I water.

Up until the 15th the plant has been outside and it’s been raining a lot lately almost everyday. The night of the 15th I gave her an IPM regimen: per quart
2tsp Neem Oil,
1/3tsp Dr Bronners,
Aloe Vera powder (Build a Soil), and fulvex. Btw that is not my recipe, I found that on the Internet, I used other recipes but they burned my leaves or put black spots on them. This recipe has worked for me thus far. On the 20th I gave another IPM (I do it every 5 days) recipe as follows per 2qt 1/8tsp Aloe Vera
1/8tsp Silicate
1/8tsp fulvex
2tsp Neem Oil
2/3 Dr Bronners

Also on the evening of the 20th the plant started to droop, so I checked the soil and it felt dry 2 inches in. So I watered her with this recipe per half gallon

1/8tsp Silicate
20ml of Coconut Water (Organic no additives from Zico)
1/2 tbsp Of Molasses

My method of watering is i’ll pour in the center until the top is almost all under water and then I let it absorb then wait a few seconds then repeat until water comes out the bottom. There was run off but it wasn’t 20% more like 10%. Once I see water come out I stop.

The next morning the plant perked up, but maybe a tiny bit droopy. Two days later from watering, it looked droopy again. I looked under the pot and saw a root coming out a drainage hole and thought maybe it’s drinking a lot. I checked the soil two inches out from the stalk and around it, again 1-2inches it felt dry. So again I watered with a half gal and my plant is still drooping. There is an inch of cedar wood mulch on top, is that too much? Last time I watered it the top inch didn’t even get wet, and the water drained pretty quick. Y’all I’m stumped. I haven’t been giving her Epsom Salt, although the soil was amended with oyster shell and gypsum.

Current temp high 84
Humidity 50-60

Lights are 12inches from the tops

This has been a problem for me and I don’t know how to fix it. I keep running into this problem and I’m beyond frustrated.

It’s been 3 days since I watered it and it still looks droopy as hell. The Stems are purple striping, just like my last two grows which makes me think it’s not genetics. Is the pH off?

What is your method? What has worked for you?
What can I correct?
What can I look at for?

Constructive criticism is always welcome, I’m asking for it!

Hay, Man. Sorry to see it go. been watching all along. I'm almost ready to post the results of some tests I've been doing on over watering. I'll be posting it here and maybe some place else. Can't remember where I started it, but some of the people in this thread are quoted that aren't in the other post. Could be that the best cures are now all in one place.

Thank you for your input, I’m always appreciative of it, tonight I’m going to give them a foiliar feed of Alfalfa Tea, and here in 4 days or so i’ll give them Kashi Tea.

Yeah Overwatering has been a big problem for me. There is also not a lot of info out there other than water until 20% of it comes out. I’m starting to learn that it’s not as simple as that. Let me know what you find.

Thank you for following dude, that means a lot

I just want to give a quick shout out to all the folks who have contributed to my growing experience and thank you for following a long. I’ll be including more and better detailed info, however I wouldn’t recommend following any recipes that are from me, only because I’m a noob and I have wrecked previous grows and would rather you learn from my mistakes.

@Fevs. @Nugachino @Lola Grows @INF Flux @hotrodharley @Mustangmike @DancesWithWeeds (I fucking love your name btw, cracks me up every time I see it) @Kushash and last but not least @SMT69 thank y’all for everything

Foiliar fed with Alfalfa Tea and watered, but I don’t think that feeding sufficed. Next watering i’ll give it some Neptune’s Harvest 2-4-1 a long with some Ful-humic, silicate, maybe Molasses. Now that I think about it, they probably need Cal-mag. They’re near a month old in Light Warrior soil, except for the worm castings it’s pretty much soiless. I’m wanting to transplant and put it in much better soil but I’m waiting for it to out-grow the pot.

C99 seedling is looking great, not much else on that

Have you ever tried Super Soil. It's great stuff. To give you an idea what I think of it I used Fox Farm Ocean for my base to make the SS. The current recipe for SS is at https://subcool.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/WEB-SubCool-2018-Fall-Menu-2pgs.pdf. It changes a little each year. It's a constant study like anything else and constantly improved. Imho, there's nothing better. It's designed to eliminate feedings. If it get screwed up by overwatering or whatever else that would have to be fixed. The most messed up my plants have ever been wasn't these tests I've been doing but trying to adjust nutes and feed and watering.

I just noticed @hotrodharly here and glad I did. He has the first quote in the post on my tests other than a couple of "gardeners", and I forgot where I got the quote.
Every time I water now the roots get loosened with a skewer. The results are far better than I had expected. Actually, I abused these plants by overwatering, over pruning, taking too many clones and keeping them under T8's instead of good lights to the point off almost killing them and brought them back. Now these are the nicest plants I've grown.

I know you can edit your own posts, not sure about other peoples.
Super soil is a great stepping stone to no till. I really like the simplicity of either in that you are mostly just putting water and trimming. I'm not sure how effective some of the teas you are using is going to be going into a perlite mix. Feeding the microbes only works in healthy living soil. The worm castings will help with that, but ideally you want that all going on before introducing the plant.
Apologies if I'm missing something, I haven't been on here as much lately, life and all that.

It's not the light. You are probably over watering also 7ph is too high I bet the pH is off and it's over watered start in smaller pots it's less likely to over water. You aren't watering till runoff are you? Those tiny guys probably don't need more that a cup of water a week at that size

Yeah I was watering until runoff. The c99 that’s in 1/2 happy frog 1/2 Light Warrior + homemade worm castings and it’s doing great, vibrant beautiful green

I’m eventually going to no-till, but this time around it’s Fox Farms

Edit: Yeah its totally overwatered, I'm gonna stop for a lil bit

Hey Folks

I think I might have solved my problem: the QB is a 4K not a 3K or 3500K. After I switched it out with one of my blurple w/Cob LED light, I gave them a foliar of the Grokashi Tea and added Aloe Vera, silicate, Blackstrap Molasses, and a1/2 tsp of Neptune’s Harvest Fish Hydrolysate. They seemed to enjoy it and from what I can tell they have a greener tint to them. That was 5 days ago. Today I gave them a soil feeding with Neptune’s at a 1/3 of the recommended dose, Ful-Humix, Aloe Vera, and Organic Blackstrap Molasses. I planted some crimson clover in with the Madcap’s. I have been combatting overwatering and I believe the clovers will help with that. In a few days i’ll Be foiliar feeding with Epsom salt.

On the C99 you can see a little Yellow on the leaves but as it grew out it reverted to the dark green. It started to turn yellow a couple days after the last pictures were taken. It’s growing steadily at 8 days old!

Not much else to report. I hope everyone’s holidays have been real nice

Hey if you are talking about the small plants. Im under the impression that 4000k is better for veg. Im not positive but I have QBs in 4000k and I use them for veg and flower, and work great. Im saving to get a 3000k for flower. Not trying to tell you what to do just trying to be constructive.

@Nutzach91 how far did you have the plants away from the light? Did you have to feed early because of the high intensity of the light? Obviously I don’t know it all, but fuck I’m frustrated. I’m not watering it every day or every other day, nor am I dousing it with water when I do, yet my lower leafs are dying just like my last plant that was in over-amended soil. The plants are in Fox Farms Light Warrior which is a seedling mix with added worm castings and the soil itself is mostly (over half) aeration so temps I. The low 80’s how the hell is it not evaporating? The ph of the LW by itself is 7, the seedlings were like 20-22 inches away from a 65 watt QB. It just doesn’t make sense, I don’t think this should be that complicated.

Also the plants haven’t been drooping either which would lead me to believe that I haven’t seen overwatered. You should have seen the tap root it was like half an inch long in one day. With the roots pushing the seedling out. It slowed way the fuck down when I put it under the light. Like I’m really confused.

I will say this night time temperatures did get down to mid fifties and the humidity did drop to the high 30’s, that was the first two weeks. I’m watering with purified water (from the store, RO, not britta filter.

I want to say at the seedling stage i started at 24 inches and worked my way down to 18 inches as the plant grew. As far as watering what I do is feel how heavy the plant is when it just got watered and I feel it again when it needs to be watered which is usually like 3 days for my environment. Right now they are in 3 gallon fabric pots and every 3 days i give them half a gallon of distilled water with nutes mixed in. As far as your feeding i have no clue about organics i use Floranova nutes with additives. I would love to try the organic route but what im doing seems to be working so im not gonna mess with it yet. Lol. Im not a pro by any means but i do pretty good for what i got. Check my journal out im pretty detailed with what i do to them. But i know i have the same light as you and i love it. I dont think i would ever buy anything but HLG. https://www.rollitup.org/t/2nd-grow-gamma-berry-dark-horse-genetics.978788/
