Alright y’all 2 cups of used Medium Roast coffee top dressed. We’ll see how she looks on Wednesday then I’m off for Vacay.

Btw as I was pouring the water, it would straight up run to the outsides without going down. Any suggestions on not doing that? Again I’m never pouring consecutively, it’s like pour for a second wait 10-20 secs and pour again

Ya know, I kind of think it’s working. I think it’s going to take a couple of weeks to correct it, but I’m ok with that. It’s better than starting from seed again. Also I like this pheno, it’s beautiful, leggy, double serrated, and I have a feeling about this. The stem rubs have been changing, but took a back seat it seems since the shock and high pH.

It’s been raining quite a bit so I can put her outside and the rain water will balance the pH too.

I have no idea why but my apartment attracts Lady bugs. I’ll have 6 just chilling in my room. This morning a Ladybug found its way to the Mj plant. Pretty damn cute

Damn Y’all I’m stumped! I’m thinking about trying to clone it and if that doesn’t work I’m going to start over. It’s still very droopy, I was gone for a week so my friend who was here could have overwatered it. Is it overwatering? Or just the soil is too alkaline? I put too much biochar in there so I’m wondering if that’s where a lot of the alkalinity is coming from. You can also see the leaves are very dark green which means there’s too much Nitrogen in the soil. I just want to grow a happy healthy plant!

About 8-9 days ago I topped dressed it with 2 cups of used coffee grounds so it looks like there is not much chlorosis going on. It looks healthier just so fucking droopy. Any suggestions?

It appears overwatered, like the roots aren’t getting any air. Maybe it didn’t dry out enough before it was watered again.

I just don’t understand how I keep overwatering it. I make sure the top two inches are dry, and I water until it drains, that’s it. I even used the moisture meter and it says dry. It must be my medium, there must not be enough aeration in there.

Maybe the bottom isn’t getting a chance to dry out before you add more water. Your leaves look full of water which makes me think the root zone isn’t receiving any air. I could be wrong. I use FFOF without adding perlite and there’s no problems with drainage. I’d like to hear what “Hot Rod Harley “ thinks because that guy knows his stuff.

Seriously thinking about culling it and starting over with the right soil, amount Of aeration etc.
If the roots are ruined it won’t recover. If not it still can, you have a decision to make. Bright side, you’ll be more prepared next round with your watering schedule. I truly wanted to see your plant thrive .

As a last ditch effort you could pull the plant out of that medium and repot in a better medium if that’s what you think the issue is beats just chucking it they’re pretty hardy plants. Good luck and happy growing!
Thank you dude I appreciate that, I think I might do that. I have heard of people shaving the roots on the sides, but yeah I just might do that. Thanks for the follow

Yeah I had to do it in hydro for root rot before cut 3/4 of the root ball off and the thing came back with some hydroguard help plants are tough creatures hope she pulls through!

Hey that’s good news! Dude I’m just stumped on this grow. I think I’m going to keep this going, for a few more weeks. I really do like this plant, and I don’t want to throw away months work. I think last ditch effort will be cloning, hell i might just chop a few nodes off a couple days before the root chop. The fact is I needed to go through and get through this. It is what it is. I’ll get her smiling again

Thank you Lola, it’s all good.

Hey Folks,

Today I took 4 cuttings, three in peat pellets and the other in water. The peat pellets were soaked in water containing Aloe Vera and the single cutting in Brita filtered water. Now I’m letting my medium dry out just to be absolutely sure I’m not over watering it. On that note, the bottom of the pot doesn’t feel like it’s moist, although I can’t feel the soil, when it’s pushed it feels spongy. Funny thing is, is yesterday the leaves started to perk up, but today looks a little down. I wish I would have taken pictures of it to document it and show here. I took another soil reading and it’s showing at least 7.5.

I think I’m going to wait two weeks before I take drastic measures like taking off half the root mass and transplanting it into plain ‘ole FFOF with extra perlite. The reason for two weeks waiting is for the cuts to root, if not, i’ll Cut another round and then gutting the plant as a last ditch effort.

Wish me luck on those cuts!

Good luck on the cuts , hopefully she recovers after being moved. Keep a close eye out I think I see a mag deficiency creeping in.

It’s been in the smart pot for 20 days I wouldn’t be surprised if it was root bound but I don’t believe that to be the cause. I can’t go any higher as far as gallons go. I’m limited depth wise, but maybe I could fit a 7 gallon. I’m wanting to switch to 12/12 but i’d Like to get past this pH issue

I'm a little slow about offering growing advice with my growing history, but I do think I have an answer for you.

I have three seasons of growing with Smart Bags and have had the same problem, not as bad though.

This was my solution: The Smart Bags seem to dry out on top and on the sides. (I pulled two plants just to find out what was happening.) If you check the first couple of inches on the top and maybe farther down along the sides they will feel dry, but around the plant there may be more moisture than what you want. I bought a $10 soil tester with a moisture gauge. Push it down about 6" or 7" about half way from the edge to plant and believe what it says. Another thing, make sure the fan isn't blowing on the bag. It will dry that side out and the soil behind it. My fan sits on the floor and blows directly on the plants. I use large aluminum foil roasting pan lids to keep the air from the bags.

Like I said, I don't know as much as most growers, but this is a problem I have had and worked out a solution.

Precisely, tonight I sat it in water for at least 30 mins. I watered from the top and the first few inches were bone dry. But I’m not quite sure I understood what the solution is. Do you still use smart pots? I think i’m going to go with the airpots next round
