Your Democrats voted for the largest defense bill in history, which is currently being well spent on murdering Yemeni civilians, Afghani civilians, Iraqi civilians, among many others.

Qualified for some. Most wealthy would not want any part of his agenda. They would prefer trump. That being said life isn't fair. I've learned after 71 years as a conservative liberal that a self centered sob will usually be better off in the end. I've given way too much money and time to people and nothing changes. Once in a while but mostly people don't change. If I was wired differently I'd prefer to be a greedy self centered sob...

I'm in the same cynical boat with you. Having been bitterly disappointed with the direction the last half century of American political thought and action, I'm doubtful we will choose to recognize what we have done to the once greatest nation on Earth- nevermind to our fellow humans on it or even the planet itself.
It's depressing as fuck to watch our country destroy everything decent people believe in and want for the future of our kind.
But I gotta keep throwing rocks at the tank anyway. Conscience demands it.

So, tell me, can you quote any of his recent work to build bridges with black leadership in the Democratic Party?
All I can find is stuff from late winter, 2016. Nothing since then, after which Bernie lost the primary mostly because he failed to attract votes from black, Hispanic and women. Does Bernie want to win or just disrupt the 2020 election?

Yeah. well, the people in his district voted for him. That's how a democracy works. The people select who they want to represent them. By getting real support in the form of a majority of votes, he became a member of the Black Congressional Congress and a leader in his community.
Something most white men have difficulty understanding is that black people have a better understanding of what it means to be black. Most white men like Sanders and you keep telling black people what's important to them instead of listening to what they say.
It would have been better if Sanders had listened to leading members of the black community in 2016. It would be better if Bernie had started building bridges with black Democratic leaders and voters after the election. Instead he remained aloof and says things like "people are tired of pc rhetoric". The "people" who are "tired" of civil dialogue are white. Can't you hear the dog whistle? The black, brown or women who chose not to vote for Bernie in 2016 hear the dog whistle too. Thus far he hasn't done anything to demonstrate he understands why he lost, either. Because he's not reaching out and working to improve his policies and message, I predict that he's not going to get much of the black vote in 2020 either.

Garth would lose. I'd vote for Dolly as long as she sings her speeches. Biden is too old, and so is Sanders. Doesn't anyone remember what happen to Reagan? The guys mind was jelly by the end of his 2nd term.
As far as 'the past is prologue' goes, that doesn't mean we can't learn from it. All the idealist voted for Nader in 2000, and gave the presidency to Bush. If you don't stick together, you lose.

all of this argument really comes down to nothing. as long as the electoral college exists, it makes absolutely no difference who you vote for, the establishment will pick who it wants, in direct defiance to the will of the people.
people used to see newspapers once a month, if that often, they'd get their news from word of mouth, letter from relatives. the electoral college was formed to keep uninformed, uneducated, easily manipulated people from making stupid mistakes. it seems now that it's purpose is keeping the same stupid, uneducated people from making good decisions
