Dude. I understand totally. You think that guns should be locked away and put up.

No one ever asked where I have my guns. Why did you not? Because then are left to assume. I just posted where I have my guns, we are safe with our shit! You all act like we are living in a fucking trailer with guns on the coffee table laying around and shit, but it's far from that.

Again, I apologize for starting off on the wrong foot with you.
They thought i left mine out without holsters lmao

I probaly got more money in custom made holsters then theu have in guns lol

To all you jackass that have your guns in a safe. Tell me where you live so I can break in and proove to you who's gonna loose it's not going to be me.

Having guns in a safe is honestly pointless! Now don't get all stupid and shit. There are some guns that do need to be put in a safe.

Excuses, excuses.

A real man doesn't make excuses.

There are no excuses when a kid does a dumb thing with a gun. Your argument is that parents aren't responsible for their kids dumb acts. That's an excuse. Refer to line two of this post.

Nope you are wrong dude. I make no excuses, Here buddy

I'm saying a shit ton of parents do not parent their Kids and these instances of kids killing kids can all be stopped at home!

Parents dont lock your fucking guns up! TEACH YOUR KIDS GUN SAFETY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have guns laying in spots throughout our house. My kids are 19,16,10, and 8. I'll be dammed if my children would ever pick a weapon up. With the exception training (at a gun range of course).
Fogdog, brother my guns are not just laying around tgey are in my room 1 in between the mattress (my side of the bed. My girl has one on her side too. The rest of my guns are in my walk in closet that is not accessdible easily. I promise you that.
Dude,

I'm glad there haven't been any accidents, I'm sure you have told your kids all about gun safety.

What you said was "don't lock your guns up!

That's exactly not what the NRA and other gun safety guidelines say. Safety is about prevention, not preaching. The best way to prevent a kid from accessing a gun, showing off and killing or maiming somebody (happens 1300 times a year) is to make so they NEVER can get to that gun. What you are saying is you don't follow that guideline.

I'll let gun owners who have thought this through tell you how they meet that guideline and can still access the weapon quickly at need.

I don't own a gun because I've been convinced by statistics that a owning a gun makes a person less safe. My dad owned a few guns and I handled his revolver, fired it and felt nothing. Nope, the gun was loud, smelly and the rattlesnake we killed didn't deserve to die. There were at least two instances where my dad pointed a loaded gun at family. Once when drunk and once when angry. I believe that is much more common than you or anybody who owns guns admit. So, no. I don't think guns make people more safe and my personal experience is in line with that belief.

That said, I'll let you gun owners try to figure it out. But don't expect me to cut anybody any slack.

Nope i practice safe gun handiling at all times

Look up sweeping with a muzzle or muzzle sweep barrel flaging ect

Do that shit at a training class or a match

Your fucking out .

There are many types of gun owners

Some definitely dont need to have them
But training is paramount to being responsible enough to own a gun.

I cant think of one time my father ever swept me with a muzzle but i can assure you
I felt his hand when i pointed a toy gun at someone

Do you see a difference?

I see your point. I have never had the experiences like those.

I can also agree with you on the fact the people think that guns make them safe.

I do have guns in my safes all of them. I also have 2 in between my mattress and box spring.

I should not have used the quote don't lock your guns up. There are guns that do belong in safes. But home defense weapons do no good locked up.

I'm sorry you had those experiences.

I'll tell you mine! As a child I watched 3 kids get killed because the kids that used the guns to kill were never taught about guns or gun safety, ever. I lost 3 of my best friends because so.eone did not teach their kids about them, nor did they lock them up. Yes I said lock them up. Like I said before some guns need to be locked up.

you are full of excuses. Including your question "how can parents be responsible if their kid does something stupid?". Maaaan that is so weak. You are the adult and you put the responsibility on the kid. Unfortunately, your weak shit excuse of a life is all too common.

My point exactly. 3 generations of hunters with the proper education.

My kids and I go to the range very often. They also know and can utilize any of my guns. They have also been to the proper classes at our gun range!

Those kids should never have had access to those guns.

End of story.

No excuses.

There are people who post here who can tell you rational ways to store a gun safely yet still be able to get to it at need. Scroll back a few pages if you want. Personally, I'm beginning to hope your kids have an accident so your genes don't make it to another generation.
