Verify the accuracy of your voltmeter/ammeter with a good multimeter. I've got a handful of these displays that are off by 100% or more (they read double the actual current). They have little adjustment pots, but they only affect the reading by about 20%.

Edit: Now that I see the display lit up, its quite different from the ones I have. Can you link to a source on that little bugger?
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152258591561 it's only a cheap ebay piece mate. I cba spending any more cash to check something I bought to check something if that makes sense. That maximum draw factoring in about a 6% driver loss is about right if I was understanding what I was taught correctly. I'm an absolute noob with electronics just winged it lol

I like those, I may look for one. I got some little 2 dollar displays, they just show Voltage and Current. The first one I bought worked fine. Then I bought several more from a different seller. The second batch that I got were the bad ones. When I checked one against my multimeter, its reading was double.

A 20 dollar multimeter should be a part of any DIY took kit.

This seemed like the best one I could find in my price range. I'll let you know how it holds up over time. And will get a multimeter when I have a few more quid about me cos this build has left me broke for a short while

@Cletus clem this is what whichever bodhi seeds @luv2grow sends over are going to be going under. Don't panic there's only 5 pages. Thought about going to page 1 on the bodhi seeds thread but 1600 plus is a bit much ha
There is some amazing stuff in that 1600 pages Think I got in around 400 lol. A few great growers moved on a while ago. But most of the rock stars and kind souls are still there.
Light looks killer bro! Clean work. I'm stealing your volt/am meter link for this Frankenstein Quantum light haha

I might make it my mornings read for the next few months see how far I get in the 15 mins I get in my room. Usually 5 to feed. 10 to have a little chat with them. Ask how they're getting on etc lol. Appreciate the appreciation. I'm a fan of your work already. The volt/am meter is @xX_BHMC_Xx idea I stole it. Then stuck it to my frame lol. You got a link to the Frankie light thread bro

Haven't started one yet. Just stripped the fixture and started sheet metal trimming. With out the heat sinks it's just a guessing game. I'm having a micrometer and tape measure Sunday off ;-) Just lazy man tools today.
Think I'll just do it in my grow lab v2.0 thread. It's kinda part of that. Or will be haha
Still waiting on Robin to send out my boards and Slate 3's. Haven't grabbed a driver. That will be this week.
Driver is the only thing I'm going back and forth about now.

Dont talk to me about drivers going back and forth lol I have another hlg320h here I have to send back to Estonia. 24 quid postage. I'll keep an eye out in the v2.0 for your build in that case. Any idea when you're down at the lab next?
As for sheet metal. There is a few thoughts crossing my mind about making a small 300x300mm full metal enclosed COB. I'd have to look at sheet metal working though. Never considered it and the prefab cases I have seen are for want of a better word.... Shit

Estonia. What a cool sounding name for a stoner.

Holy crap man. That's some skills you got there. The closest thing to a volt/amp meter I've got is my bust ass circuit tester.
Nice one mate. I have literally winged it and had a lot of help with the maths etc. The engineering is all me though. And I'm happy how it's turned out. The volt/am meter was only about £10 on ebay. And the project box was about £5 in screwfix. Still need to get the fans wired up and shit but I'm slacking

I had one dremel. An f clamp. And some duct tape to get mine built. Shit was mainly guess work and hoping for the best.
Sometimes that's the best way. Wish I had a dremel to cut that project box. Sat there with a file for ages to get it nice. Dremel is on the list for new tools Trust me
