My paint shop buddy just called by for a doob. He's left me a 1200w buffer. And various grits upto 1500 to polish up the sinks.

Went to machine mart and grabbed a tap and die set. Just threaded all the holes I piloted yesterday. 
Went and picked 3 arctic f12s up too. Just sorting my placement for the fans. Then I'll remove the channel to drill for fixing.

I built a very similar light. i juat drilled holes through the outer fins and zip tied my fans on tho.

Voltmeter ammeter housed in ip55 rated Junction box. Absolute pain in the arse cutting through that plastic but it's there. As soon as the cobs are soldered I'll be wiring up the full system apart from the fans because I need to order a fan speed controller and a 12v driver.

This is the fan speed controller I'm thinking of getting. It's the only one I've found where the temps don't say cpu/hdd/sys which would really fuck me off being as they will be measuring cobs and the 4th probe can measure ambient temps or run a 4th fan over the driver not decided.

Still gotta tidy shit up but that's what we were aiming for. Now I wont lie and say it was easy. I fucked up on one solder so effectively wasted a cob. Lucky I had a spare eh. This is being run at lowest possible power just to test btw
