I haven't seen a single chopper this year period.
According to one of the local guys they're simply not dropping the funding on it this year.
You can usually spot them in the air in August combing the local area at least for one day.
But word has it that the local chief is considering buying a drone for the purpose of nosing around properties. Although he's too fat and lazy to do so imo.
It'd get blasted down with a shotgun in short order.

Well this thread has sort of become sidetracked!

To answer the OP's question, Aerial MJ spotters in Helo's use their naked eye, no IR, binoculars or cameras! Cannabis is a very distinctive green, texture and shape from the air. Generally they look like little emerald green gumballs and of course most guerilla grows have other distinct giveaways, The emerald gumballs planted in an unnatural pattern ie; rows, garden patterns, etc., buckets, hoses, tarps...

And even the backyard 2-3 plants grow is actually very easy to see...

According to FAA guidelines, in general in residential areas they don't fly lower than 700 feet above ground level!

The good spotters can see a single plant from above 1000 feet AGL!

And they don't use just Helo's they will also used fixed wing aircraft too!

Just flew over my two less than 200ft in the air county sheriff I was looking out my window watching them I'm in a legal state and it's only two plants 5ft tall nothing much but i was PARINOID for sure still am. I'm in my legal limit but i don't have them enclosed locked in as law says

I went ahead and harvested mine I'd rather get it a week early than not at all. I wished the fucking government would get their heads outta their asses and leagalize it nation wide. They don't give a damn about feeding me all the schedule II narcotics I can eat but flip the fuck out if I want to smoke a doobie. WTF

I'm in northern Macomb but only temporary staying with family cause my wife had a triple fusion last year and we have 3 kidos. Bought a house in warren over the winter almost done with full remodel on it to to bottom. Be done in a few weeks.

I think there's still videos on YouTube called Never Get Busted. One of them deals with outdoor growing where this dude goes up in a chopper and shows you what a grow operation looks like from the sky.
I've heard they have a hard time spotting when you grow around spruce trees.

Na I'm not paranoid I'm ok with how they're hid now, in my building. I can open the doors up in the evening and still get about 4 hours sunlight. I can deal with that for a couple days until the mofo's move somewhere else to look.
