I had never heard of FIM'ing before I got back into growing last year. Haven't done it on one of my plants yet, but I did FIM a few Jalapenos for practice. I will do a few that way, like you say, for the knowledge, but since tops has traditionally been my summertime smoke, I'll keep on topping heavily.Yes. I will top most of them. I want to try FIMing on a couple and LST on a couple. Gonna leave one alone. Experimenting to gain knowledge.
Spray the plants with 7 dust {bean dope} and the deer will leave your plants alone..kyI got hit by the deer pretty hard this week too. Only two of the six plants in the KP patch hadn't been munched on. I have some old chicken wire, now I just have carry it back to that bunch of woods and cut them to size.
That snake is white steak in a restornt and good eating.Bake him with butter and fresh squeezed limon juce and pabrickea till tender and then you got super and a little garlic bread.kyDid some tending yesterday and found this guy gaurding a patch.View attachment 3675180

I pulled the big male and replaced him with a young seedling. I dug another hole in a good east-west opening. All plants in the ground now. One seedling died of drowning. Been a wet spring here. May replace that one with a clone later on.
Not sure. I've just used what I had around for the garden, or made up a pepper and tobacco mixture. The bugs are munching here and there. I didn't have the neem oil spray with me. It's not bad. I'll be sure and have it next visit.
BT? I've read here and there about it. Is there a brand name I can look for? My roses are getting nailed pretty hard right now by bud worms. I've seen the Bayer systemic for roses at Walmart and have no doubt it would do the trick for my roses. Was really wanting to find and try the BT so I'll have it on hand for the mj.
Thanks for the link. Bought it!Bt (bacillus thuringiensis) is not a brand, but a "soil-dwelling bacterium", an ingredient in a mix: like this one. <<<link
I've never tried to go right into soil with weed cuts. Have done it with fruit trees and such. I have a 5 gallon rooter {submersible pump with 360 degree sprinkler head} I'm using this year. So far I'm 1/4 growing roots with it, but i did forget to mist the cuts for a couple of days. Last year I floated the cuts in foam coffee cups over an air bubblier in a aluminium roasting pan. I was 1/2 growing roots with that setup.I did some more topping on Thursday. Everything was looking good. On a whim I decided to take some cuttings from one of the ak47s. I took 4 cuts and immediately stuck them in a full water bottle I had in my pack. It looked like a lovely marijuana bouquet. When I got home I scraped about 3/4" of one side of the stalks then dipped in powder hormone then in soil. First time ever I've tried to clone. As it turns out it was misting rain all the next day so I left them outside under a shed where they could receive a good amount of light (it was overcast but not terribly) but not get drenched. One plant was leaned over pretty hard by the end of the day, but the other 3 looked great. The next morning the leaner was upright again and by the end of the day it looked worse than the day before. This continues and today it looks pretty much a goner. But the other 3, well have a look...View attachment 3701385I was able to mist them a few times a day over the weekend but none at all today. I have kept them in indirect sunlight and it has been absolutely beautiful the last 2 days. I'm pleased so far.
