More Jews died from famine as nd slavery than were actively gassed or burned. Genocide is the mass casualty of a ethnicity or culture. As I stated above, cold war is why we never focused on the red surge or the Chinese occupation.

Being in such varied company doesn't diminish the suffering of the Jewish people during the holocaust, any more than it excuses what Israel is doing to Palestinians to this very day.

If you can find a way to separate ultra nationalist attitudes and human rights violations from the religion the Israeli state hides behind every time it's confronted about them, then you'll have gained a more mature understanding of the situation there.

Would be a whole lot easier to confront Israel if the Palestinians were ever confronted and not always excused
