No dude. Listen, led is more efficient.it will produce more weed. If you were running 600 watts of solar storm it would yield more. You ran a led that draws half the power of the 600hps and it didn't do much worse. Add another and the hps cant compete.
 
What about in a given area? I run 600w hortiluxs in a vert setup each one taking up a 4x4 x8height area, i also run cxbs 6 @ ~75w each, so 450w per 4x4 area. I have found i can grow strains that stretch 2 to 3 times in height do much better and are easier to support with a vert cage. I have had better yields in my vert setups, with the leds yielding close to g/w of lighting used.

Sorry to tell you but those test results aren't very accurate, for one, he grew that 1000watt hps in a 4x4 but a 1000watt hps can cover a 5x5 that would have upped yield substantially(it still yielded more in a 4x4),secondly he used a low quality HID light, I would like to see a test of a DE hung high against some CXB3590's equal wattage head to head. My money would be on the DE it just puts a larger footprint out you would have to spread the LEDs out too thin. If you restrict the best part of a light (for HID thats the footprint) yeah the light might not be as good as it could be.
 
Talking lumens my setups are very similiar 600w, 85000 lumens...6 cxb @~75w ~12000lumen x6 72000 lumens.

I also benefit right now from the heat the 600s put off. All leds in the warm months, did i mention the leds penetrate really well much better that hid in a horizontal setup.

not true, the sprawl in the. Grows are much closer to a 5x5. Its about as good a side by side comparison as one would expect. Yields were similar, lab test of the flowers were similar, and most importantly light levels over each canopy were very similar.

You must not have read the comparison, says this under space

Space- 7.5Wx11Lx7H room but only about 4x8 being used this grow...two 4x4 sections.

That's a 20% restriction of that HID lights maximum footprint, so probably about a 20% loss of yield.

1000 watt bulb is 4x4. DE is 5x5. And honestly that guy slayed it, no doubt about it.

That doesn't change the fact a 1000 watt hps covers a 5x5 and a duel ended gavita covers a 6x4...what are you saying...my 600w hps covers a 4x4...

Did you read my post? The grows actually sprawled beyond the 4x4 space.

BUT more importantly the height of each light were set to achieve an even and full coverage over the canopy. It was verified with a par meter. They each got close to the same amount of light, if I recall correctly the apache had a more even and slightly higher ppfd.

That fact alone makes your criticism a moot point.
 
Most important factor is the hood when using most HID lights that aren't open air like a DE fixture. You guys are clueless.

Here is my room friend. Trust me when i tell you its a 4x4 area. Yes you can grow under 5x5 i guess. You do it though, I will not.
