Upgrading LED Lights

BAB someone else is doing it. I think this is a breeder too. Just nice to see. I thought I was the first lol but of course not. I like originality and this hobby allows for creative thinking but damn everythings been done already haha.

Man, feel like theres no reliable way to raise temps without some kind of fire hazard. Basement too large to warm up as needed without the home heat. I found drop clothing can isolate and create decent lung rooms.

But it would be a concrete wall with wooden/drywall structure right infront of the concrete wall. Like Just under 3”. Space heaters need 3’ clearance all around and shouldnt be unattended. I think oil radiators are the same.

What if I put some ceramic infares bulbs in the tents facing the canopy and the pots for the rootzone? Suggestions? I could benefit from the 80f like enviorment. I put clones in flower room to veg a couple wks longer. It didnt want more light but it did grow faster.

They shouldnt need 8+ wks veg Im at 10-12wks. Lately been noticing at harvest the main stock just folds and snaps in half instead of needing freakin hedge clippers. I dont want to effect them genetically shoot should find out about that. Its like 60-70F.

Well asking ai IR isnt any different for safety but the grow tent heaters from spider farmer etc are. I just remember hearing something bad about those or not compatible with my purpose. Will check those. Anyone use them?

I mean, its got good review. Of course some bad but thats with any product which I have many of. 100$ 500w. It wont damage genetics so I guess Il let my mom plants sit a little cooler to help slow growth. It will trunk up and is more for production and testing as Im some what getting into breeding.

I know I can do it but its like learning how to grow but on steroids. Playing tetris in dark mode. A patient process. Its all about objective and I have a strong one. Feels like a calling.

Theres these heat blankets you can try to put under or maybe around the pots.

If still not enough the ceramic heaters are a good option, a buddy of mine uses them for winter ledgrows to great success. Id start out small, not sure if they are dimmable.

Another protrick is extract the bottom and intake on the top.
Ive also seen some use and praise small watt incandescent bulbs but be super careful with them, they can cause super stretch if wattage and throw isnt carefully matched. Like if you dim down your main light too much with them on the far red levels may give you stretch due to low main light.

Awesome thanks, I tried that with a cfl and didnt realize the difference. I think Il try that with the extract thru bottom vent tech. Then the grow tent heater if needed but the ceramic IR I read it can scortch tent fabric and plants and to use probes everywhere on controllers. Just seems like a last resort.

As for spectrum, I was just pointing the cfl away from the plants with those clip on lamps or clamp lamp. So it was just shining in a corner for heat but didnt do much. I wonder if one or two is enough maybe three. Its a 5x3 thats 6 foot tall.

Yes thats the easiest thing to test first.
Heating mat under pots (thermostat is a must have! You can boil the roots if too much) would be my nr 2. I wish they made pots with built in heating cabling, would be narly.

Cfl is not an incandescent, has more visible light and less IR than incandescent. Widespread halogen spots can also be tried, they are easy to dim down. Just make sure its wide enough or mod the reflector.

I havent tried any of these things except extraction so your own responsibility, yymv.
Ive seen some excellent results online from adding 10% incandescent as spectrum filler for even deeper reds, far reds and IR.

Do you run a deh in ur grow room ? Have bigger based mediums and that deh will run 24/7 and be a heater . my quests for my rooms is 25-50% of my hvac heat reduction needs ( uses a lot of btu deh ) and for winter runs it’s a god send for not having to use heaters and keep my temps at desired . Heaters are way more costly than cooling in my experience . even a 70liter deh if u had a bed style grow the thing would run hard at night and that’s ur heater ?

not everyone’s style I realize but it was a suggestion many don’t realize if they didn’t do that style ?

My tiny dehueys dont dump heat unless its already hot in grow room then gets hotter. By themselves they dont really dump as my lights out between tents used to be longer gap. My basement is humid like 55-65rh sometimes 70rh but thats good for veg.

It might be worth it might not be on that often if to exaust slow but just right for odor.
