Well if rubbing cat litter on your testicles is wrong then I don't want to be right, so keep doing what you're doing

You get the most bud density in the last 2 weeks, why would stop feeding and start flushing at their most critical time? You won't get any extra yield by not flushing, so feeding up to the day of harvest is a waste of nutrients. If you let them go long enough they stop using nutrients and fade on their own. I see no harm in flushing, I am no expert but I think to be on the safe side, FLUSH.
I was talking more about hydro and I don't flush in my organic no till. You put on weight towards the end and I don't flush for too long. You get the most bud density in the last 2 weeks, why would stop feeding and start flushing at their most critical time?
Not only that, but in soil, by the 7th week of flower your soil is pretty much cooked. In the sense that there's really not much left in it other than what you're feeding.
So not only are you flushing virtually nothing out of the soil, but you're stressing the hell out of the plant at the most vital period of flowering.
At no point ever in your grow do you want unnecessary stress, and I don't mean stress via topping or LST. I mean stress at the ROOT level.
You want to maintain a healthy and steady nutrient feed all the way to harvest.
So you harvest lush green plants. Nice.Nobody is disputing that you will inevitably get good results if you flush, and are a knowledgeable grower. However, your plants will not get the nutrition they deserve throughout the most crucial point in their lives. Decreased yield, quality, flavor and taste is a real concern because of this.
No matter how much people like to conflate flush with cure, this will never be the case. If you want to get the most out of your plant, feed it til the end, and cute it properly.
That condescending comment merely shows your lack of understanding on the topic of nutrient uptake/need, depending on the stage the plant is in.So you harvest lush green plants. Nice.
Sorry for being rude. I just don't think flushing for a few days would hurt anything, so why not. Sorry, again. That condescending comment merely shows your lack of understanding on the topic of nutrient uptake/need, depending on the stage the plant is in.
The plant will not be a lively green, given that it should be fed greater amounts of phosphorous and potassium as it develops in flower. Potassium is especially important.
Contrary to popular belief, when the leaves discolor, it isn't because the plant is pulling nutrients from them, it's because the plant hasn't got enough nutrients to metabolize into chlorophyll.
So yeah, you continue with your attemptedly witty comments, and I'll continue to grow spectacular plants, like I've been doing for the past 10 years.
That's fine mate.Sorry for being rude. I just don't think flushing for a few days would hurt anything, so why not. Sorry, again.
Not arguing the merits or negatives of flushing because I don't give a flying fuck lol. What I do know with my plants is one way I tell if they are ready is they stop growing. By the last week or two they have stopped drinking (hydro), and growing. At that point I am waiting for trichs to start to turn Amber, not a lot of Amber, just the start. If people are flushing at that point, I really doubt the yield is suffering much at all. Again, flush, don't flush, I care not lol. I'm hard pressed to let mine cure properly due to always running out lol.You get the most bud density in the last 2 weeks, why would stop feeding and start flushing at their most critical time?

It is for maintenance but they run fresh water through just before harvest as well. Perhaps the buyers insist on flushing be it useful or not.Wouldn't this more fall into general cleaning rather than specifically about plant growth?
I'm not a hydro grower, but I'd assume you need to take extra steps in maintaining a clean environment. Those trays must get pretty gross quickly if left unchecked. I personally wouldn't want my food or cannabis around all that muck.
Yup it is lol. Perhaps I'll let you talk to the chimney, she's in the bedroom vaping right now lol. That's one negative of smoking like a chimney.
I somewhat disagree. My 50l DWC setup (one plant) is currently at 1400-1500ppm. Plant is doing great, in every sense of the word. The only thing you need to flush is your toilet, stop feeding your plants garbage ass nutrients and ppms of 1500 and you will be fine. The plants don't fucking need it and you don't need the stress of them looking all garbaged up so just give them a steady stream of what they need with some nice little water cycles in between and you will be golden.
I am talking the golden fucking goose here bruh, trust me.
That is fine you can disagree, if you gave me an exact replica of your room to do a side by side I would show you that I could do the same with less.I somewhat disagree. My 50l DWC setup (one plant) is currently at 1400-1500ppm. Plant is doing great, in every sense of the word.
I could also probably be doing the same with less, and could probably be doing the same with 2-300ppm more. As you know, not only does it depend on environment, but also on strain, phenotype... hell, it's plant specific tbh. I know when it's too much, but right now, they're loving it. However, just for fun, my setup:That is fine you can disagree, if you gave me an exact replica of your room to do a side by side I would show you that I could do the same with less.
