ISIS for the most part are operating in a normal occupation type way, out in the open. Send in special forces snipers, Apache gunships, etcProbably the most right post in this entire thread..
I just read that and thought about it and you're totally right..
Obviously you think of the people of Iraq, the civilians, the Kurds and the people of Syria.. all put in a shitty situation made even shittier by the invasion, occupation, and evacuation by US forces.. a cavity, an empty pocket of power to be taken by the strongest arm.. ISIS.. we leave, they fill the void.. Pretty much an inevitability that every neocon was predicting.. Almost as shocking as Silver's predictions.. Any military analyst could tell you the same thing..
Now here we are.. A journalist gets executed, and likely another innocent one soon enough.. Horrible shit, nobody would disagree with that. But do 2 people warrant another indefinite war in the middle east, fighting an invisible enemy at an unsustainable cost? The potential cost of our country? Is another war worth it? More than $2 billion a month.. worth it? +4,000 soldiers, worth it? .. ask yourself those questions..
Is it worth it to go to war with an enemy thousands of miles away who have no legitimate chance of attacking American soil to bankrupt our country and jeopardize even further the future of American citizens? Is it, really, because a few war mongers in media and politics say so?
Think about it..
Exterminate them from a distance, their convoys are out in the open.
If the locals arnt hostile (they want America back) you've already gotten most of the way to victory.
