thanks anyways dude! tumblr_mb4m4zSI5v1r908gjo1_500.png
also wondering peoples approach to germinating seeds in hempys, or a reference. I was thinking of just using soil but was wondering if there was anything important about taking clones of a certain "generation " or anything like that. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Well this I CAN answer! I find germinating seeds in jiffy peat pellets is the best way to go. I tried in a coco/perlite hempy started in Solo cups, but I couldn't get them to take off the way I wanted. I did a bit more research and found people were using peat pellets to start, then putting them in the hempy buckets. This was a lesson learned the hard way for me. Good thing I have TONS of bag seed!

As far as cloning, in the past I have simply cloned my best producer. I use a DWC cloner which produces about 99% success. I wanted to switch mom plants recently, so I am starting all over again from peat pellets (after learning that coco/perlite hempy cups was not cutting it!)

it has been 6 weeks since I chopped my auto-flower hempy......I haven't posted much about them because they are complete crap...extremely disappointing

I want to make hash and/or oil out of them, just not sure which technique I'll use.

Pics start with the top cola of "C".... weight: 130 grains (gun powder scales).....approx 8.4 grams

Snip off the mini buds and pull off most of the leaves

Stem = 17 grains
Leaf = 31 grains
Buds = 79 grains
total = 127 grains
Angels share = 3 grains

cleaned up the mini buds, remove more leaf and stem...re-weigh

Stems = 20 grain
Leaf = 33.5 grains
Buds = 70 grains
total = 123.5 grains
Angels share = 3.5 grains

so what started as 8.4 grams ended up at about 4.5 grams...which wouldn't be so bad if it was reasonable smoke, but it tastes like "home-grown" did in the 70's (lots of leaf taste)

piss poor genetics.....I knew they were not maturing proper right from the start....said all along they were way too light...the pics looked good but I knew they were crap...I should have threw in the towel months ago.

It may be a long time before I ever try another auto-flower....and most certainly not an "Early Wonder Skunk"

Never tried auto-flower. It's kinda a new concept to me so of course I don't trust it (LOL)!! Old timer and all....

Looks like maybe the Ruderalis gene was predominant in your pheno's.....it's the species that doesn't get you high but gives the cross the characteristics sought after for early flowering and insect/disease resistance.

I've seen people with a ton of success on the net, but haven't myself or knew anyone who has... even if it looks good... the smoke has often been bad, worse than brick weed...if anybody even smokes that

As I said, it is a new concept to me (they weren't around 10 years or so that I knew of). I am immediately suspicious because you can't control them. The "auto" part scares me off - what if I want to veg for a year (like you would with a mom!)?? But because I have not used them or really even heard of them I am no expert. I am sure someone out there has perfected how to use them and could put me to shame!! bongsmilie

I have a friend who I have a tremendous amount of respect for who spent the last year growing autos to give them a fair test. He found most breeders were hit or miss but there are some who are putting out seeds that are consistently good. Dinafem seemed to have more winners than anyone else. Other breeders seem hit or miss at best.

My tent looks bare! I only have 1 resident, a Super Skunk I put in 12/12 about 5 days ago. Hoping my moms speed up, I could sure use a few clones!
