will this cfl work?

dont think you should use as your only light, but for above the canopy should be great. add some small CFLs in Y-splitters for side growth and extra light. the 6400k is just about right for vegging your plants, but you have to switch to the softer whites (ie. orange/reddish in color spectrum) for flowering properly.
this is from what ive read/experienced so far. im pretty new at this too, but did and still do lots of researching and these are generally accepted guidelines.

Your on the right track but unless your growing in a pc case you will need more light! Even big cfls can only penetrate about 6" into a plant canopy si side lighting or alot of top lighting is a good idea!

ok I was hoping to avoid using multiple lights, do you reckon about 4 12w cfl's around the plant will be enough (as well as the 125w on top) or what wattage would you recommend?

well this diagram was my original plan but I guess I'll have to hang the top lights vertically and then try to mount more smaller lights on the walls or something?

Heigth should be more like 1/2 meter two meters is around 6 feet right?? Cfls wont get light to travel more than 12-18 inches srry dont know the metrics..

spot on, 2meters is roughly 6feet. I sorta know inches so it's ok
I don't mind keeping my plants a bit shorter

any suggestions on my proposed grow setup are more than welcome but I'm keeping it cheap as possible to start off with

what wattage would you suggest for the side lights and how many would I need minimum?

thanks for the help so far

I used mostly top lighting till the ens then i added a few more 26watters .. You can see start to finish in my journal .. All diy no internet orders or hydro stores! No expensive nutes just home depot stuff and walmart stuff..

I started reading your journal but it went way off topic pretty quick, I'll try again when I'm a bit more sober :P

that will be fine for now but you are gunna wanna switch that around with a lower K rating once you start flowering. also either put a couple tubes or cfl's with reflectors on the side for flowering. two lites or more on the side should do you good

well hows this then? I've revamped my plans and now i'm thinking either of the following two might do the trick? with coke can reflectors on all cfl's
