Will the size of the clone matter

If you were to take a clone from the bottom of one plant or small clones, would that affect the size of the plant or rate of growth from the clones

well 1st how big is the mother plant you wish to clone?
2nd smaller clones tend to have a higher death rate than bigger ones

I've got 3 clones at about 4" and 2 at around 2" or less. It's been 2 days since I took them from their mothers and all subjects seem to be doing well. Each has its own makeshift humidity dome made from clear plastic 1 liter coke bottles. As far as I've heard as long as the humidity is high and medium is moist: clones should take root... This is my first time cloning so I'll update as the little ones root and grow bigger!

I did a little experiment since the topic of flushing has recently been buzzing; I cloned from 2 plants. 1 I flushed and took clones the same day. The second I flushed and waited 24 hours to take the clones; in hopes of flushing more nutrients from the cuttings. (so they concentrate energy on rooting?) I'm going to experiment with multiple flushes and no flush before clones are taken with the next round of clones. So, I'll also be updating on those variables as well. Good luck!

I've taken 3 from my dying (root rot)dwc violator kush, used Shultz rooting hormone put a little ocean forest in 3 solo cups and just waiting for them to root.

let's not get confused here "clones are rooted plants." "Cuttings are the un-rooted parts of the plant you've cut off." If you took to many cuttings from your mother plant it will affect the growth rate for a period of time until the plant can recover and continue growing. Same example would be if you trimmed your plant to much. It would not affect the size of the plant. It would have an affect on the time it would take to achieve your desired plant size.

I think you are asking can small cuttings from a vegging plant or vegging mother/clone turn into a good sized plant? I don't know if this is what you are asking but if so yes.

All five of these are from the same vegging female that had showed her sex already, all were taken from the bottom and were quite short. They are at about day 16, day 7 maybe from out of dome. In a month these will be two feet or more and ready for flower.

I've seen clones this size at 2 weeks grow into 5-7 oz monsters in flower. If you are talking about the health of the mother or vegging plant that the clones came from as long as not too many branches were cut off that plant will most likely continue to be healthy after 3-4 days of shock from cuttings. Maybe I misunderstood the question altogether but there is my reply.

small clones can get just as big as large clones in time. it just takes more time with the smaller ones

rate of growth in my experience seems to be more dependent on things besides the size of the clone.

I always flush(water only) for a week and take cuttings from lower 1/3rd of plant. Depending on how long you veg, you can get them to grow at the same rate as other cuttings but will take more time to get there as mentioned.

Thanks a lot you pretty much answered my question, I took my cuttings about a 5-7 days ago. I didn't put them in the humidity dome but made sure to mist them with ph water and the soil stayed moist. They look pretty good no yellowing hoping for the best.

Its probably too late but cutting a 2ltr bottle in half and placing it over the cutting in soil or a plug that acts as a dome and usually when the bottom of the leaves start to yellow that means (IMO) that it is starting to root.
